The nomenclature of the proposed project denotes that the project is situated on Dikhu river in Mon district. This he said has come down against the will of the general public since the proposed Dikhu Hydro Electric Project stated to be on Dikhu River in Mon district fell between Longleng and Mon districts.
\u201cThis nomenclature has caused resentment among the general public and refusing to part with their land and cooperate with the proposed hydro project,\u201d he said, and asserted that henceforth the nomenclature should be changed to Dikhu Hydro Project situated on Dikhu River under Longleng and Mon districts.
He also said construction of project would have more submersion area under Longleng district. Dako also observed that the present proposed hydro project would submerge the present NEC Bridge under construction between Tangha and Kangching village.
\u201cIt is felt by the people of our area that this NEC Bridge must not be shifted from the present site at any cost since this might cause diversion of Longleng-Ladigarh NEC road and might cause immense inconveniences to the people of that area in particular and the Phom people in general,\u201d Dako said.
Further, he requested the government of Nagaland and the Manu Energy Systems pvt limited to postpone the proposed project till the settlement was arrived at between the land owner villagers and the government of Nagaland and the company involved.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
