{"id":69967,"date":"2011-04-18T00:37:39","date_gmt":"2011-04-18T00:37:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2011\/04\/18\/no-action-on-fir\/"},"modified":"2011-04-18T00:37:39","modified_gmt":"2011-04-18T00:37:39","slug":"no-action-on-fir","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2011\/04\/18\/no-action-on-fir\/","title":{"rendered":"No action on FIR"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/>After the ransack and destruction to medical equipments and other assets in the M.I. room of the Nagaland Univeristy campus Lumami on March 24 night  by a mob of students enraged over the absence of the medical officer, the university lodged an  FIR with Zunheboto Police against those involved. However, it was learnt that till date no action has been taken on the FIR lodged by the university authorities.  It was reported that the students went on rampage after no doctor was available at the MI room to attend to one student who fell ill after allegedly consuming ethylene.  The university authorities had filed the complaint with police so as to probe the entire incident. It was reported that despite repeated requests to police to speed up the investigation, no action has been taken. University sources said unless a thorough probe was conducted and those named in the FIR also questioned so as to ascertain the causes and factors that led to the incident, no action could be taken on any. University sources explained that it was not possible to provide 24-hour duty in the MI room owing to various reasons such as manpower and make up of an MI room which is basically for first aid treatment. Further, a case as the one in March 24 could only be treated at a general hospital, located at Mokokchung.
