The duo in a rejoinder said that on April 3, they accompanied the complainant (Naga girl) to the police station to complete certain formalities as instructed by the OC. They said that the accused and his father were sitting in the OC\u2019s office who was not present during that time. The duo, however, said they were not aware of the accused and his father\u2019s presence in the room.
They said that the accused, on seeing Akum peeping into the office, came charging outside and when he saw the complainant standing outside, started charging her \u201cwith the intention to cause bodily harm.\u201d At that instance, the duo said, \u201cHaving no option we blocked his path and pushed him back.\u201d
Further, the duo said it was later found that the incident was reported to the OC in a \u201ccoloured manner\u201d for which they summoned to ascertain the facts. \u201cAfter narrating the actual incident the OC was satisfied and he directed all of us including the accused to tender apology to each other which was done. And the matter ended there,\u201d they said.
With regard to the April 14 incident at Hotel Mayur Dimapur, the duo said they have \u201cabsolutely no idea\u201d of the incident and came to know about it only through the newspaper.
\u201cWe are only students and in Nagaland there are no \u2018Naga militants\u2019 or \u2018Naga insurgents\u2019 \u2026. As such, for maligning the name and image of the Nagas and the state as a whole we hold Dr. Shiva Jatan Thakur (father of the alleged accused) solely responsible,\u201d the duo said.
The duo also requested the police to investigate the matter thoroughly and make known to the public the outcome of the case.
It may be mentioned that Kumar Saswat, a merchant navy cadet was arrested from NSCB International Airport Kolkata on March 25 by Dimapur police.
He was arrested after the victim (Naga girl) lodged an FIR on March 16 at East police station Dimapur, for posting obscene pictures of her on \u2018Facebook.\u2019 Police had said that the accused admitted of hacking into the victim\u2019s email id and posted her nude pictures on the networking site as she had refused to marry him. The father of the accused had on Saturday written to SP Dimapur seeking protection of his son as he was apprehensive that some few persons were trying to harm his son. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
