Celebrating 10 years of providing sanctuary for pregnant girls experiencing crisis pregnancies, Moamenla Jamir, founding director \u2018Mother\u2019s Hope\u2019 said faith in God and education are the two most important things in life and guaranteed anything can be achieved in life with these two qualities.
Considering that parents play a pivotal role in a child\u2019s life and builds the child with pearls of wisdom, she said one must always believe and trust our parents.
On the occasion she thanked and expressed gratitude to \u2018Mother\u2019s Choice\u2019 Hong Kong for their unflinching support to \u2018Mother\u2019s Hope\u2019 since day one, N. Niza Angami for donating the land where \u2018Mother\u2019s Hope\u2019 now stands including the approach road to the centre, friends, families who have been contributing in various ways, staff, young pregnant mothers and their families and well-wishers for their support.
Speaking on the occasion as chief guest Banuo Z. Jamir, IAS, additional chief secretary and commissioner Nagaland\/ border affairs and ex-officio state election commissioner said Moamenla\u2019s 10 years service for the cause of women was a testimony of work in faith.
\u201c\u2018Mother\u2019s Hope\u2019 gives us hope to make changes in our life, and it took the courage to breakthrough the mind set of people\u201d, Banuo said.
The chief guest also urged \u2018Mother\u2019s Hope\u2019 to sensitize women about the dangers they have to deal with, in this society and said even men should be made equally aware of the trauma a woman goes through in an unwanted pregnancy. Change in mindset requires the participation of both man and woman, Banuo said and further requested \u2018Mother\u2019s Hope\u2019 to support institutions to come forward so it can educate the people on the principles associated with \u2018Mother\u2019s Hope\u2019.
It may be mentioned that \u2018Mother\u2019s Hope\u2019 provides free counseling both over the phone and in person.
There is also a residential home where one can choose to stay during pregnancy and receive new skill training while residing there.
\u2018Mother\u2019s Hope\u2019 gives free health-care and psychological support to girls undergoing crisis pregnancies maintaining strict confidentiality of their identity.
It is a residential home for newborn and infants with a team of full-time staff providing round the clock love and care for all the babies till they are adopted into loving families.
\u2018Mother\u2019s Hope\u2019 believes every child deserves a loving family, and that for every baby, God has already prepared a family.
