{"id":71226,"date":"2011-06-25T01:02:35","date_gmt":"2011-06-25T01:02:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2011\/06\/25\/hc-fix-33-women-quota-hearing-on-july-15-2\/"},"modified":"2011-06-25T01:02:35","modified_gmt":"2011-06-25T01:02:35","slug":"hc-fix-33-women-quota-hearing-on-july-15-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2011\/06\/25\/hc-fix-33-women-quota-hearing-on-july-15-2\/","title":{"rendered":"HC fix 33% women quota hearing on July 15"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/>Responding to the Public Interest Litigation filed (PIL) by the Naga Mothers\u2019 Association (NMA) on 33% women reservation, the Gauhati High Court has fixed the next hearing for July 15, member NMA Rosemary Dzuvich\u00fc told Nagaland Post here, Friday. <br \/>The NMA leaders led by its president Abei-\u00fc Meru and Rosemary Dz\u00fcvichu Thursday filed the PIL on behalf of the Naga women at the Gauhati High Court, Kohima Bench following the state government failure to implement the 33% reservation Act which was unanimously passed in the State Legislative Assembly earlier. <br \/>The Writ petition No. 147\/2011(K) was admitted Friday and a single bench judge, Justice Sharma had issued notification to the respondent concerned, she said adding the judge during Friday\u2019s hearing told the legal representatives of the state government that they cannot resist the Act which was passed by the state government itself in the state Assembly. <br \/>Further, the Judge reportedly told the state government representative that the case could be disposed off Friday, however, the concerned respondent of the state needed to be notified for implementation of the Act first.<br \/>It may be mentioned that the state government had passed the 33% women reservation in the policy making of the civic bodies.
