{"id":71674,"date":"2011-06-26T00:42:12","date_gmt":"2011-06-26T00:42:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2011\/06\/26\/konyak-region-extend-support-to-khaplang-2\/"},"modified":"2011-06-26T00:42:12","modified_gmt":"2011-06-26T00:42:12","slug":"konyak-region-extend-support-to-khaplang-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2011\/06\/26\/konyak-region-extend-support-to-khaplang-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Konyak region extend support to Khaplang"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/>A statement issued by the office of the chairman, Konyak Region NSCN\/GPRN(Khaplang)  Region Head Quarter Eastern Nagaland, Myanmar, disclosed that the Konyak Region NSCN\/GPRN, after a marathon discussion on the present crisis, decided to extend all out support to the \u201cundisputed leadership of S.S Khaplang, the chairman NSCN\/GPRN\u201d. <br \/>The meeting was participated by host of senior and active party members of the region, present collective leadership of the regional authority and Raja Piyus of nine (9) ranges.<br \/>  Toklang Konyak, Chairman Konyak Region, described the meeting as \u201ca historic one and turning point\u201d saying it strengthened the position of SS Khaplang as \u201cundisputed leader of the Nagas\u201d. <br \/>In his speech, Toklang Konyak, advised all workers under Konyak region to remain firm and distinguish between real leader and \u201csituation-created leader\u201d. According to him, the former was \u201cGod anointed one\u201d, while the later was \u201cman portrayed and doubtful one\u201d. <br \/>Toklang further urged all the national workers under NSCN\/GPRN (Khaplang) that, such crisis was an opportunity for the people to choose real leader. He however said no violence   should envelope the transitional period. He urged all the regional authority in Naga country to follow the clean decision of the Konyak Region. <br \/>\u201cWe are one people under one Nation and hence, we need only one rightful leader to lead us in the right decision\u201d, he said.<br \/>Meanwhile, according to a national daily, days after the Khaplang faction of the NSCN split \u2018finance kilonser\u2019, Kughalu Mulatonu, joined the Khapalang\u2019s group.<br \/>Mulatonu joins Khapalang<br \/>Mulatonu left the Kehoi camp, located near Dimapur, with at least two other leaders, sources said. The leader of the GPRN\/NSCN, \u2018ato kilonser\u2019 Kitovi Zhimomi, said he was fed up of bloodshed. \u201cThis is politics,\u201d he said, responding to Mulatonu\u2019s decision. <br \/>\u201cI don\u2019t want bloodshed, Khaplang wants it,\u201d he told The Telegraph from Dimapur.<br \/>Recalling his September 18 meeting with Th. Muivah, he said the NSCN (I-M) general secretary also wanted reconciliation. \u201cPeople want reconciliation under the aegis of the Forum for Naga Reconciliation,\u201d he said.<br \/>While Muivah\u2019s decision is not known, it is clear that Mulatonu will pose a fresh challenge not only to his relative, Kitovi, but also to security forces. <br \/>The calculus of a split outfit on the nationalistic lines is again distorted, the national daily reported.<br \/>\u2018Promotion Azah\u2019 <br \/>DIMAPUR, JUN 25 (NPN): National Socialist Council of Nagaland chairman S.S. Khaplang has promoted \u201cmaj.gen\u201d Niki Sumi, under Sumi region of Sorumi village, bearing \u201carmy no.7669\u201d, to higher rank of \u201clieut. gen.\u201d on account of his \u201csincerity, efficiency and loyalty to the casue of Naga nation.\u201d<br \/>According to NSCN\/GPRN (Khaplang) \u201ckilonser\u201d Y.
