Further, it said since Khekiho is a player within the provisions of the statehood under the constitution of India, he was \u201cdefinitely not the right person to say that the deal was not an upright one\u201d and that all know he \u201cis also an Indian citizen under oath of secrecy to protect the integrity of the nation.\u201d
On Khekiho\u2019s narrative of a meeting in Ghukiye village under Satakha subdivision sometime in 1956 when the then visiting Indian army chief Gen.Thimaya offered \u201chalf a rupee\u201d to then FGN ato kilonser Kughato Sukhai who refused but in return, offered rupee one to suggest that Nagas deserved more than statehood; NPCC said Khekiho \u201cseemed to have quoted a verbatim encounter\u201d to buttress his point that Nagas could have achieved \u201csomething more worthy than statehood.\u201d
NPCC countered that if Khekiho wished to use \u201csuch undocumented statement\u201d as leverage then he \u201cmust not forget, that the Nagas had missed a greater opportunity when something much greater was offered to the Nagas by the then prime minister late Indira Gandhi\u201d during the six rounds of talks with the FGN at prime ministerial level, which remained deadlocked after the sixth round.
NPCC maintained that though Nagas were at an advantageous position \u201cfor something greater\u201d at that time, statehood was also the best option in that precarious time. It said Nagas now have to reconcile with the past, no matter how bitter it was and instead prepare for a better future and put their heads together as equal stakeholders.
NPCC said NPF leaders like Khekiho MP, would do well to realize that they alone \u201ccould play the key role.\u201d
Accusing NPF and its veteran leaders like Khekiho for thinking they could score political points by crying over spilled milk, NPCC cautioned it would only lead Nagas nowhere but back to square one. NPCC said if NPF leaders reject the concept of statehood as means to achieve greater goal; then it meant rendering all political talks for solution \u201cthat is less than sovereignty, meaningless.\u201d
NPCC said NPF was stuck to the past as it cannot claim any credit on Naga political issue, except the \u201cnotorious Shillong Accord\u201d and so were only trying to \u201ccover up their failures\u201d by quoting \u201c the lost opportunities in the past.\u201d
It said as the ruling party, the NPF was responsible for providing something constructive to the political groups and the government of India for a lasting solution within a time frame; but more than eight years of the NPF\u2019s \u201cequi-closeness policy and facilitator\u2019s role, have led the Nagas to nowhere.\u201d
It reminded NPF that the Congress under late Pandit Nehru and Indira Gandhi \u201cconsistently exhibited and exercised supreme political will\u201d for solution.
NPCC described Khekiho as \u201cunparliamentarian\u201d for telling Nagas to check with parliamentary proceedings and bulletins to \u201cjudge his role as MP\u201d when it asked him to clarify his achievements on the Naga political issue.
Further it said when Khekiho \u201cwas disappearing into political oblivion\u201d he was \u201csaved by Neiphiu Rio at the cost of other capable NPF leaders\u201d to become MP.
It said just because Rio saved him (Khekiho) from political oblivion did not mean the Khekiho could declare that Rio \u201cs the political saviour of the Nagas\u201d.
Slamming Khekiho for sycophancy, NPCC asked how he (Kkekiho) claimed that Rio was the political saviour of Nagas when he (Rio) \u201chas made enemy of all the neighbouring states
NPCC said Rio\u2019s \u201chostile policy of emotional integration\u201d only caused hurdled to the smooth path of \u201cgeopolitical integration through diplomatic channel.\u201d
NPCC asked whether Rio\u2019s politics of exploitation had not resurrected and accelerated the demand for Frontier Nagaland, kept dormant by the \u201cgoodwill of the Eastern Nagaland people?\u201d
On Khekiho\u2019s \u201cphenomenal mandate\u201d for NPF, NPCC said it was indeed phenomenal in the history of Nagaland elections when the NPF in 2008 won only 26 seats in the fractured mandate but \u201cadditions to its tally\u201d came through \u201cbackdoor\u201d.
On Khekiho\u2019s stand that a \u201clogical conclusion was delivered\u201d in the Sugar Mill VRS scam and also having clarified his position on the industrial transport subsidy case, NPCC said it \u201cwas misleading\u201d but it might appear conclusive \u201cso long as NPF is in power\u201d.
