{"id":72312,"date":"2010-08-03T00:51:04","date_gmt":"2010-08-03T00:51:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2010\/08\/03\/naga-council-shelves-ultimatum\/"},"modified":"2010-08-03T00:51:04","modified_gmt":"2010-08-03T00:51:04","slug":"naga-council-shelves-ultimatum","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2010\/08\/03\/naga-council-shelves-ultimatum\/","title":{"rendered":"Naga Council shelves ultimatum"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/>Naga Council, Dimapur, in its executive meeting held today, has decided to temporarily suspend its July 26 decision and wait for district administration to revoke or re-instate its order on Naga commission till August 10. <br \/>The Naga council on July 26 public meeting had set a seven-day ultimatum to district administration to revoke its abeyance order on Naga Commission or face the public protest. The ultimatum expired today.<br \/>According to a Naga Council statement, the temporary suspension of its decision was in view of the \u201camicable resolution\u201d that arrived at a joint-meeting July 29 last at DC\u2019s conference hall comprising of ADC Dimapur, Police, Naga Council, Dimapur Chamber of Commerce, DMC, Women Hoho, DNSU and Tribal leaders, where it was \u201cunanimously agreed\u201d that Naga council continue its Naga commission with restricted items to be monitored by the district administration.  <br \/>The council, with regard to this, said it was grateful for the \u201cjudicious understanding of all concerned.\u201d <br \/>It may be noted that state government on July 29 had issued a standing order directing that tax would not be allowed to be levied in Dimapur district till further orders and that such orders be kept in abeyance \u201cindefinitely.\u201d <br \/>Naga council, however, said that if the administration failed to oblige its \u201clegitimate request,\u201d it would revive July 26 resolution where a suitable course of action would be decided to restore justice to Naga Council. <br \/>(Full text on page -4)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Naga Council, Dimapur, in its executive meeting held today, has decided to temporarily suspend its July 26 decision and wait for district administration to revoke or re-instate its order on Naga commission till August 10.
