A day after the Naga Script Literature Central Board (NSLCB) launched its basic handbook of Naga Script, founder and author of Naga Alphameric, N. Haisoyi Ndang has accused the NSLCB of plagiarism. Ndang , in a press statement Sunday, claimed that the handbook was a concoction of his original script known as Naga alphameric \u00a9 2002 and that \u201cother caricatured figures\u201d were picked up from elsewhere without any fundamental derivation. He said healthy though competition should be the ascent and motto of \u201cliterature the centre of excellence\u201d but not by copying of someone else\u2019s intellectual property. Pointing that as Nagaland state had promulgated its Copyrights Act in confluence with the Burne Convention Act 1911 (revised), he lamented that the very Act seemed to have failed to disseminate down to a section of people who \u201cproclaimed to be the pioneers of Nagas\u201d. Stating that there could be many competitors who are genuinely interested in bringing about a Naga script for the \u201cgreater glory\u201d of Nagas, Ndang maintained that infringement on another person\u2019s copyrights was a crime which should be discouraged by all sensible Nagas.
