Commandant of VG Tsanthong exhorting the gathering on the occasion and executive chairman YAC Er. T Muleki explaining the significance of the festival.  It may be mentioned that Medemneo is the most significant festival of the Yimchungru tribe which is generally celebrated from August 4-8. Observed after the harvest of millets, the festival is connected with prayers for the departed souls and is a sentimental ceremony for those who have lost their loved ones during the year. An elderly person \u2019Kheamphuru\u2019 after due prayers declares the festival open. The festival is spread over five days viz<br \/>Shito, Zhito, Zumto, Khehresuk and Sheresuk. Speaking on the occasion,  Dy. Commandant of VG Tsanthong pointed out that it was festival of love,   sharing , peaceful co-existence and a time of merry making and called upon the gathering to follow the aspects of the festival.<br \/>Executive chairman YAC Er.
