\nAddressing the \u201cWorld Elders Day\u201d on the theme \u2018Elders contribution to society\u2019 organized by Nagaland Senior Citizens Forum (NSCF) at the State Banquet hall, the Chief minister said the Education department was coming up with a new idea to identify senior citizens who would teach the students about the rich culture and tradition of Nagas.
\nThe chief minister also said the government was planning to create recreational centres for senior citizens, starting from district level.
\nOn suggestion put by NSCF for availing free NST and health care services by senior citizens, Rio said the government would soon take a decision on these, while assuring that the government as a welfare state would do whatever was possible.
\nExtending his warmest greetings to the senior citizens, Rio said it was a real privilege to host them. He also the theme of this year\u2019s Elders\u2019 Day was \u201cappropriate and befitting.\u201d
\n \u201cIt\u2019s the senior who had contributed and that\u2019s why we reached this far. Younger generation should be grateful\u2026In olden days age is respected, but in modern days age is overtaken by modernization and civilization. If senior citizens speak out, people will listen. You must speak out loud and clear,\u201d he added.
\nDwelling on Nagas\u2019 obsession with \u201cfreedom,\u201d Rio said \u201cWe are mixed up with civilization and freedom. Freedom is not free, free only under the law. We are talking only animals\u2019 freedom. In modern civilized society we have to fit out freedom under the law.\u201d
\nAround 300 senior citizens took part in the march, which was flagged off by advisor, NSCF, O Kathipri from Red Cross Complex, Kohima. A Naga lunch was later hosted by the wife of chief minister, Mrs. Kaisa Rio.
\nElders including WC Krome, Kiremwati and Mrs. Rano M. Saiza, former MP, also spoke on the occasion. The function was chaired by H. Hesso, president NSCF.

\nKOHIMA, OCT 1 (NPN): Said to be about 120 years old, Nuolhe\u00fc Zumv\u00fc from Nachama Village could be one of the oldest women in the world.
\nA report from the Kohima District Welfare under the Department of Social Welfare stated that Nuolhe\u00fc Zumv\u00fc has ten children, thirty two grand children, sixty great grand children and three great, great grand children.
\nHer eldest surviving daughter is 84 years old. Nuolhe\u00fc Zumv\u00fc was said to have witnessed the World War I (1914-1918).
