\nNPCC: Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) vice president Nillo Rengma said though abduction for ransom, extortion, intimidation, especially against business community in Dimapur, had become daily affairs, the government of the day was not bothered and law enforcing agency expressed helplessness.
\nStating that this year alone, there were twenty cases of abduction, NPCC said the State government had failed to book a \u201csingle culprit\u201d in the abduction cases. NPCC asked for how long would DAN Government treat abductors, murderers, extortionists and criminal activists as \u201cpolitical in nature.\u201d
\nMaintaining that development activities in the State had come to a standstill due to criminal activities, NPCC said it was high time for the government to restore and maintain law and order in the State.
\nDCC Dimapur: Expressing shock over the brutal murder of businessman Prashanjit Dhar,
\nDCC Dimapur general secretary Timir Choudhury said the injuries and torture inflicted on the businessman before he was murdered, proved that those involved in the crime were \u201cbarbaric and beastly with no value for human life.\u201d DCC also informed that Congress MLA of Dimapur-II A\/C, SI Jamir, who was presently out of station, had also condemned the brutal murder. Appealing to the administration to be more vigilant since gun-toting miscreants were having a field day and doing as they wished in Dimapur, the DCC also regretted that the mortal remains of the businessman had to be kept in the morgue for more than three hours due to absence of doctor to conduct the post-mortem.
