Kire and health &#038; family welfare commissioner &#038; secretary M John, on behalf of their respective departments, NEPS report stated today.<br \/>DGP said the signing of MoU would upgrade the existing central police hospital (CPH) at Chumukedima as a \u201cFirst Referral Unit (FRU) for delivery of quality health care. <br \/>Kire said police department has more than 25,000 personnel and with their family members, it was a huge lot demanding more and more medical facilities. <br \/>\u201cOnce the existing Central Police Hospital, Chumukedima is upgraded as Referral Unit with other advance medical facilities, they would be able to save lot of money,\u201d said Kire.<br \/>DGP also expressed his happiness on the state health department for their coming forward for mutual partnership with police department for up-gradation of existing hospital with manpower and logistic supports.<br \/>The main objectives of the two departments singing the MoU was to strengthen the CPH, Chumukedima as FRU for delivery of quality health care; to incorporate the national disease control programmes (NDCPs) in the services delivery of all the health units under police department.<br \/>M John also expressed hope that with the signing of MoU would mark the improvement in the health care sector. <br \/>He said H&#038;FW department would be providing manpower and logistic supports in upgrading the CHP and other areas.<br \/>Explaining that the police department would redeploy the existing seven specialist doctors, posted elsewhere in the state, for strengthening the manpower, the John said NRHM would provide general duty medical officers (GDMOs) in place of the specialist doctors thus redeployed.<br \/>The NRHM would also provide additional general nursing and midwifery (GNMs) as per Indian public health standard (IPHS) of FRU community health center.<br \/>He highlighted that H&#038;FW department would be providing for skill up-gradation of the critical health staff of the Nagaland police department as per prevailing integrated training policy.<br \/>The state police department would however recruit and deploy the above-mentioned manpower while NRHM would provide grant-in-aid to meet the salary expenditure for the same. <br \/>And the Police Department is expected to develop necessary manpower of the hospital at the earliest for self sufficiency. The human resource support from the NRHM will be initially for a period of two years.<br \/>With regard to the infrastructure and logistic supports, the police department would deploy the physical infrastructure and equip the hospital with relevant equipments and instruments conforming IPHS for FRU. <br \/>The NRHM depending on its resources would provide necessary logistic support in terms of data management.<br \/>Earlier, police department\u2019s medical consultant Dr Sashimeren Aier, welcoming the leaders for the singing ceremony, said the MoU between the two departments would bring a overhaul in the health sector of the State police.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nagaland police department has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with the department of health and family welfare (H&#038;FW) at police headquarters Kohima Wednesday.The MoU was signed by DGP K.
