\nASU assistant general secretary Zakie Khate in a press release informed that the meeting discussed various technical issues and review of CMCF system and a mutual agreement was reached between the government and ASU through verbal discussion.
\nThe meeting also resolved to fulfill the proposals of the Angami Students\u2019 Union (ASU) including inclusion of ASU representatives in the CMCF selection board, with equal rights and voice; conduct of CMCF interview strictly on merit basis, and that all political recommendations should not carry any weightage.
\nConsidering the cosmopolitan nature of Kohima, ASU had also sought for additional fund to accommodate more beneficiaries.
\nASU vice president Kevizayie Peter was endorsed to the selection board and the union also called off its proposed boycott of CMCF interview.
\nFollowing the mutual agreement, the CMCF board interview began at 12.30 p.m Tuesday, ASU said.
\nThe meeting was attended by Dr. Nicky Kire, DC Kohima Sachopra Vero, ADC Zenietuo Yano and government representatives, while ASU delegation was led by its vice president Kevizayie Peter and also included Angami Youth Organization (AYO) general secretary Seyiekhrielie Nagi.
\nEarlier in the morning, starting from 9 a.m to 11 a.m, ASU volunteers picketed the DC\u2019s office and pasted posters on the gate.
