Three-day seminar organized by the Unger Kosasanger Telongjem (UKT) was graced by MLA and Chairman for NIDC & NHL, Nuklutoshi as the chief guest on Tuesday. The seminar is being held at Unger village under Mokokchung basing on the theme “progress in culture”. The seminar was organized as an orientation for the members of the Unger Kosasanger Telongjem who after few years will take over the mantle to rule Unger village.\nWhile delivering the chief guest address, Nuklutoshi stressed on the importance of acquiring education and said that it was difficult to sustain without education in the contemporary. In this regard, he alluded to the efforts of the Central Government to offer education to millions of its citizens by introducing various schemes. The MLA questioned the Kosasanger of Unger village as to whether they were satisfied by the quality and magnitude of education acquired by its villagers and exhorted them to strive to make the village cent per cent education free place.
\nWhile dwelling on means of sustenance through augmentation of economy, the NIDC & NHL Chairman also urged the members of the Unger Kosasanger Telongjem to resolve for enhancement of the village economy through tea, coffee, fruit or paddy cultivation. He discouraged the aged-old practice of obtaining easy money through loan, subsidy, and even during elections and advocated for total eradication of the same from Naga society.
\nNuklutoshi opined that the present system of giving votes during elections should be wiped out completely and further urged the Kosasanger members to make their village a clean and just place during their tenure in ruling over the village.
\nEarlier, welcome speech was delivered by Dr Talitemsu Imsong, and exhortation by T. Chuba Imsong, Tatar of Unger Village Council. The function also saw presentation of cultural songs and dances, and beating of log drum.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
