\nThe chief minister in a letter addressed to the State chief secretary reminded the latter that the Cabinet had in an order dated November 15, 2007, approved for enhancement of retirement age of State Government employees from 57 to 60 years. Rio also reminded that the Cabinet on October 23, 2008, issued a directive to examine and prepare a profile of the average length of service put in by government employees at the time of superannuation.
\nThe chief minister further said that a decision had already been taken to file for review of the High Court order in the WP (C) Rule No. 3354\/91 for which directions were passed to the Law and P&AR departments on two occasions, and that the Government had also assured the NSF on January 6, 2008, that review would be filed in the court.
\n \u201cThere can be no excuses whatsoever, to explain the lapses away. The affidavit for review is also learned to have been signed about four months back but had not been filed in the Court. The action of the erring officials tantamount to direct insubordination and undermining of the Sate Cabinet,\u201d Rio said.
\nCalling for an enquiry to be instituted to go into the lapses to ascertain and fix responsibility on erring officials, the chief minister also asked the chief secretary to initiate disciplinary action so that \u201csuch casual approach on important and sensitive issues are avoided in future.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
