Venuh in a letter addressed to the Visitor, NU, alleged that the three NU officials had drawn 40% of their pay arrears even before the clearance and directive by the Ministry of Human Resource Development to Universities.<br \/>\nCondemning the \u201cserious violation of financial rules,\u201d NUTA said the action of the three NU officials amounted to stealing from the public exchequer of University funds.<br \/>\nAccording to NUTA, the amount drawn by the three officials as 40% of their arrears are: vice chancellor Prof. K Kannan (Rs.4, 56, 794), Registrar Thejao Vihienuo (Rs.3, 39, 818) and Controller of Examination Tompang Ao (Rs.1, 77, 908).<br \/>\nQuestioning the action and approval of the vice chancellor and registrar, who is also holding the finance officer\u2019s post, NUTA further said the \u201cillegal\u201d drawal of 6th pay arrears by the three University officers was highly questionable since all three were currently under the \u201cVisitorial Scanner for serious irregularities.\u201d<br \/>\nNUTA demanded immediate refund of University funds, inquiry into the matter and action on the serious violation of Financial Rules.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Central Executive Council, Nagaland University Teachers\u2019 Association (CEC-NUTA) has drawn the attention of the President of India Pratibha Patil, who is also the Visitor of Nagaland University, to alleged illegal drawal of 6th pay arrears by the vice chancellor, registrar and controller of examination in Nagaland University.
