Imchen Friday said Naga National movement and \u201cfalse propaganda\u201d had spoiled the minds of the innocent public in the initial period that police service was considered as \u201canti-Naga\u201d service and agents of mainstream society. \u201cThough there were misconceptions about police service, today thousands of Naga boys and girls are after police service\u201d, he added while addressing the combined ceremonial attestation parade of 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th NAP (IR) battalions at NAPT Centre Chumukedima.<br \/>\nThe minister said law and order was pre-requisite for development and progress of the state and therefore called upon police officers and personnel to enforce rule of law, maintain vigilance in the state. \u201cNagaland police image in the rest of the country is highly appreciated\u201d, he said while lauding the officer of 13th NAP (IR) Bn and instructors for their tireless efforts.<br \/>\nWith the sanctioning of 5 IRB since 1999 by the central government and one more Mahila Battalion for Nagaland police already sanctioned and yet to be raised next year, Imchen said with the raising of IRB and Mahila battalion educated boys and girls would get opportunity for employment and also get to serve the people in the state and outside the state.<br \/>\nHe also said that state government had submitted a proposal to union home ministry to accord sanction for a separate police training institute at Razaphima, under Medziphema sub-division.<br \/>\nEarlier, delivering the welcome address, IPS commandant 13th NAP (IR) Bn Toshits\u00fcngba Aier highlighted the phase of training that was inaugurated on March this year. A total of 1108 recruits of 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th and 13th NAP (IR) battalions who successfully completed their 9 months phase-I basic training included 14 graduates, 55 under graduates, 193 matriculates and 846 under matric.<br \/>\nThe function was attended by DGPs, ADGs, IGPs, DIGs, senior officers, parents and relatives.
