The department admitted that it was unable to provide stable power throughout the state for quite sometime due to limited availability of power. \u201cPower from all sources is only about 25 MW against the requirement of 80 MW during peak hours (day time) for entire state and about 62 MW against the requirement of 110 MW during peak hours (night time),\u201d explained the chief engineer (CE) power department. The CE also pointed out that at lean season hydro power stations located in the northeast, from where most the state\u2019s power requirements was met, were generating less power. Asserting that it was very concerned with the inconveniences caused to consumers including small-scale industrial units, the power department, however, said with the shortage of power it was not possible to do away with load shedding.
