{"id":77185,"date":"2011-09-04T01:28:53","date_gmt":"2011-09-04T01:28:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2011\/09\/04\/combined-ncc-training-camp-concludes\/"},"modified":"2011-09-04T01:28:53","modified_gmt":"2011-09-04T01:28:53","slug":"combined-ncc-training-camp-concludes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2011\/09\/04\/combined-ncc-training-camp-concludes\/","title":{"rendered":"Combined NCC training camp concludes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/DYDYUQGWMCIOWMBQNOBH.jpg>Combined annual training camp for NCC Cadets of Nagaland was conducted from August 24 to September 2 at Civil Defence and Home Guard Training Centre, Toluvi. <br \/>\nAltogether 466 Cadets (appx) from 23 institutions covering 4 districts participated, comprising of 24 NL (I) Coy NCC , 25 NL (I) Coy NCC, No. 1 Naga Girls Battalion and Co-ordinating Unit No&nbsp; 1 (NL) Air (Flg) Sqn NCC. <\/p>\n<p>Camp commandant squadron leader S Akheto Jakhalu (Indian Air Force), Commanding Officer No 1 Naga Air NCC Sqn Dimapur explained on the aims and objectives of the camp and encouraged the cadets to build up leadership qualities, develop positive attitude, increase awareness level, excel in academics and be an asset to the society by providing leadership in all fields.<\/p>\n<p>Various training activities imparted to the cadets during the camp were awareness workshop on AIDS and ill effects of alcohol by MO Dimapur, disaster management and first aid lecture and demo by Nagaland Home Guard, Visit to ATC, Dimapur airport , small arms display by 24 Assam Rifles, small arms firing and theory for all cadets, drill, PT, Games competition, Taekwondo, yoga classes, cultural extravaganza and Aeromodelling workshop by AMI from 51 Assam Air NCC&nbsp; due to non-availability of AMI in the state.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, lecture classes on SSB and leadership by the Camp Commandant, Technical and non technical classes by the staff of the Unit. During the camp, Col Abhay Singh Gp commander of Kohima Group visited the Camp and encouraged the cadets to appear for the NCC A, B and C certificate and utilize the certificate for future job prospects as it carries job reservation and incentives in private\/public sector and central paramilitary forces. Cadets with NCC \u2018C\u2019 certificates with \u2018B\u2019 grading, (50% marks in graduation) and wanting to join armed forces as officers are exempted from appearing UPSC written exams and called for SSB interview directly on recommendation of CO unit. <\/p>\n<p>Presently 10 Cadets appx from the state applied for 31st special entry Scheme.
