Asserting that one cannot compromise on an epidemic like measles, the DC asked for collaborative effort on the part of every department. <\/p>\n<p>Stating that life of every child was important, he said lackadaisical attitude towards this campaign cannot be accepted and called for concerted approach in making the campaign a success.<\/p>\n<p>The house during the meeting decided on social mobilization and to use the Church platform for effective dissemination of information on the importance of the campaign. All churches associations were requested to assist the campaign.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>DPRO were also asked to support in effective broadcast for the campaign. Headmasters and principals of all private and government schools were also requested to inform parents of children from nursery to class 4 comprising of the age below 10 years of the importance of measles vaccination.<\/p>\n<p>Measles catch-up campaign has been targeted to cover a population of 30,291 children in outreach sites and 23, 235 children in schools across the district. Meanwhile, a training of trainers (ToT) for health officers and supervisors would be held on September 15 and 16 at CMO conference hall, Tuensang.<\/p>\n<p>The meeting was attended by superintendent of police Tuensang M. Roopa, Deputy CMO Dr. Thanghoi Lam, District Immunization Officer (DIO) Dr. Lanuchuba, District Education Officer (DEO) Toshehe Sumi, executive secretary CBLT Ongmangh Chang, executive secretary KBCA Rev. Penglang, District Welfare Officer (DWO) I. Tali Lanu, DPRO Lanuakum, principals and headmasters from schools in Tuensang, School Health Programme Co-Ordinator Amos and media officer.<\/p>\n<p>It may be mentioned that catch-up campaign dose is given to all children, both previously vaccinated and un-vaccinated, who belong to the target age group.
