{"id":8145,"date":"2008-10-04T00:42:40","date_gmt":"2008-10-04T00:42:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2008\/10\/04\/prashant-to-mesmerize-dimapurians\/"},"modified":"2008-10-04T00:42:40","modified_gmt":"2008-10-04T00:42:40","slug":"prashant-to-mesmerize-dimapurians","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2008\/10\/04\/prashant-to-mesmerize-dimapurians\/","title":{"rendered":"Prashant to mesmerize Dimapurians"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/PXMFFWQYODTOCJCBIAXQ.JPG>Prashant Tamang, Darjeeling-based Indian singer and winner of Indian Idol season 3 arrived on Friday morning, Dimapur spreading an air of excitement among the passengers in the normally monotonous atmosphere of the railway station with his presence and arousing a feeling of curiosity to have a glimpse of Sony Entertainment\u2019s most sought after Star.<br \/>\nPrashant Tamang, the first contestant of Nepalese origin to win the Indian Idol and also the first from the Indian police force to win the same, received a heart rending welcome from the denizens of Dimapur on Friday.<br \/>\nIn honour of the Idol, the Dimapur Gorkha Union (DGU) organized an informal felicitation programme at Rotary Club Dimapur attended by hundreds of people from the Nepali community as well as others.<br \/>\nTerming northeast region as a land of music lovers, Tamang expressed his \u2018earnest desire\u2019 to perform the concert scheduled on Saturday especially at Dimapur during a press conference after the informal programme.<br \/>\nPointing out the positive factor, Prashant called upon the youth from the region to showcase their talents by singing up for music competitions such as Indian Idol and Saregama, wherein their talents will be discovered without biasness by true professionals in the music industry.<br \/>\nOn being asked about his present celebrity status, Tamang responded \u201clife of a celebrity is not easy and we have to give away our privacy, but through the love of the public I am where I am today.\u201d On marriage, the Indian Idol says \u201cabhi time hain, girlfriend abhi nahin hain mera..\u201d<br \/>\nPrashant Tamang will perform live on Saturday at DDSC stadium with MC Konyak, Minister of Forest, Environment, Ecology, Wildlife and Excise as the chief guest and H.K Khulu, Commissioner as the guest of honour.<br \/>\nThe show being sponsored by Breeze restaurant and Basu Damani, treasurer and spokesman, BJP Nagaland is also being held in aid of construction for Gorkha cultural hall Nepali Gaon, relief for flood victims and social activities of the Gorkhas.<br \/>\n(NP Feature )<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Prashant Tamang, Darjeeling-based Indian singer and winner of Indian Idol season 3 arrived on Friday morning, Dimapur spreading an air of excitement among the passengers in the normally monotonous atmosphere of the railway station with his presence and arousing a feeling of curiosity to have a glimpse of Sony Entertainment\u2019s most sought after Star.
