Landowners of third route option– Dhansiri railway station in Assam- Dhansiripar- Pimla- ARTC-Shoxuvi-New Chumukedima whose lands were to be acquired for alignment of new railway broad-gauge line from Dimapur to Kohima, Monday agreed with the union railway ministry\u2019s offer of `25 per square feet after a meeting held with advisor Cooperation & Sericulture, Azheto Zhimomi and other officials at the DC conference hall here.<\/p>\n
GBs and council chairmen of Dhansiripar, Pimla, Shoxuvi and Vidima had agreed with the proposal of the railway ministry. <\/p>\n
Meanwhile, GBs and council chairmen urged the state government to ensure that the landowners or the affected villagers get direct compensation and that no middleman should be allowed. They further appealed that the qualified youth of the affected villages should be given employment opportunity with assurance in written by the government. <\/p>\n
Azheto informed those present at the meeting that the state government had attempted to seek higher rates with railway officials but it was not fruitful. He said the project would bring development, thereby urged the landowners to think about the future generation and the interest of Nagaland. He also said the properties damaged would be given different compensation.<\/p>\n
Azheto further urged the villages who couldn\u2019t attend Monday\u2019s meeting to think about the proposal of the railway ministry and to send their assessments by November 20 so that the government could come up with a concrete decision. The meeting was also attended by DC Dimapur Hushili Sema, ADC Dimapur Sedevikho, DGM NST and other government officials.<\/p>\n
It may be mentioned that the landowners of the first route options– Dimapur station-Thahekhu-Thilixu-Chumukedima and second via Dimapur station crossing a portion of the Zoological Park had rejected the railway ministry proposal. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
