Kate Middleton is having her engagement ring made smaller to fit her finger better, it was claimed today.\nThe royal bride-to-be has asked jewellers to alter the ring as she prepares to marry Prince William on April 29.
\nThe sapphire and diamond band was famously worn by Diana, Princess of Wales.
\nMiss Middleton has asked Crown jewellers G Collins and Sons to attach small platinum beads inside the bottom of the ring to make it a size I, which is said to be one notch up from her own finger width.
\nKate has reluctantly had \u2018speed bumps\u2019 attached to the bottom of the ring to make the band more of a snug fit on her size H finger, according to the Sun.
\nMiss Middleton appears to have slimmed down in recent weeks as her big day approaches.
\nThe 29-year-old \u2018adores\u2019 the ring and \u2018didn\u2019t want to cause a fuss\u2019, but had found the band was turning on her finger, a royal source told the newspaper.
\nThe source added: \u2018A bride\u2019s worst nightmare is looking down and seeing her ring has fallen off\u2019.
\n\u2018One can only imagine how this is magnified when you are marrying the future King of England.\u2019
\nA Clarence House spokesman declined to comment on Wednesday\u2019s claim.
\nThe engagement band, which was also Princess Diana\u2019s engagement ring, is valued at ?32million because of its famous history.
\nPrince William gave the ring to Kate to ensure his late mother Diana would still be part of their big day when the couple marry later this month.
\nOn Monday, the couple visited Lancashire in their last joint engagement before their wedding day.
