{"id":82361,"date":"2011-11-26T00:38:19","date_gmt":"2011-11-26T00:38:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2011\/11\/26\/workshop-on-kingdom-in-business-place\/"},"modified":"2011-11-26T00:38:19","modified_gmt":"2011-11-26T00:38:19","slug":"workshop-on-kingdom-in-business-place","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2011\/11\/26\/workshop-on-kingdom-in-business-place\/","title":{"rendered":"Workshop on \u2018Kingdom in Business place\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/PDTREGMSAYBOEUJWIREM.jpg>A ten-member team of experts from South Africa gave talks on the concepts and principles of Kingdom in Business Place at Niathu Resort Friday. <\/p>\n<p>The team has been meeting and interacting with a cross section of society across the 11 districts of Nagaland and Friday\u2019s meeting in Dimapur was specifically for those involved in education, media, business and church. <\/p>\n<p>Tony Johnson (New Zealand) described a Christian involved in one\u2019s respective profession as a \u2018sacred calling\u2019 where there was no dichotomy between \u2018secular and spiritual\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Expounding on the kingdom principles, Tony explained that every Christian and not only those that are described as \u201c10% full time\u201d church workers, is called to be the kingdom people. He said when there can be no \u201cpart time Christians\u201d so also there could be no \u201cpart time\u201d church worker.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>Recalling a photograph in a local newspaper, showing the tail fin of an Air India plane with Ao Naga shawl motif, he opined it meant God was going to expand Nagaland to the world.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>Matthew Paul Jones, a freelance writer based at Dubai Media Scriptwriting,&nbsp;&nbsp; spoke of parallels, opportunities and challenges that media offered to Christians.<\/p>\n<p>He said what was important was to note that \u201cwhat we focus, we magnify and what we magnify, we glorify\u201d in the context of sensationalism.<\/p>\n<p>He said the opportunities were on truth telling and challenges on defining the nature of news and being able to remain a Christian. <br \/>\nChristo Brendenkamp, Managing Director of Synergy Business Intelligence threw a statement \u201cif we are those who attend church, or if we are the church\u201d?<\/p>\n<p>Christo also served as coach in the marketplace, playing the role of raising&nbsp;&nbsp; leaders for both the local church and the business environment in South Africa. <\/p>\n<p>The youngest of the 10 member team, Roger also spoke about how Kingdom in Business helps in providing for the family, providing for poverty, and building of platforms of influences to minister and disciple the people of the community. Paul Maughan with his wife spoke in terms of education and taking what God has given us and sharing it with the community. <\/p>\n<p>The programme was organized by Nagaland Development Outreach (NDO), a development wing of NBCC and HN Company.
