Naga People\u2019s Front (NPF) Friday said the remark by PAC convenor of NPCC K. Therie, against the chief minister Neiphiu Rio and NPF president Dr. Sh\u00fcrhozelie, carried \u201cno iota of truth\u201d and was the \u201cunthinkable joke of the era.\u201d<\/p>\n
NPF press bureau was reacting to Therie\u2019s claim that both Rio and Sh\u00fcrhozelie \u201ccould not understand that Naga Underground and over ground society have been fractured into pieces during their governance\u201d and that people were not comfortable \u201cunder their biased leadership\u201d and also not happy with \u201cthe paternalistic, manipulative and dictatorial leadership.\u201d<\/p>\n
It said contrary to Therie\u2019s \u201clightheaded statement\u201d, the \u201cdegree of unity and progress on all fronts\u201d has ameliorated \u201cas never before\u201d consequent to the \u201csincere, incessant \/ consistent efforts and hard work\u201d in just a few years of the NPF-led DAN govt. in office.<\/p>\n
Maintaining that at this juncture \u201cwe need a strong leadership\u201d, the bureau said \u201cas such, the unambiguous, candid and impartial opinion\u201d expressed by Rio over the status of the \u201cIndo-Naga political process\u201d and \u201cSupra State Body\u201d should not be \u201cmisconstrued or marginalized for scoring frustrated personal interests.\u201d<\/p>\n
NPF stated that quest of the Naga people for a \u201cpermanent solution of the Indo-Naga political issue\u201d has tracked on for decades and the issue has been on the DAN govt.\u2019s \u201ctop priority.\u201d Asserting that a lot has been said and done over the issue, it said NPF would continue to be the foundation upon which \u201cthe principles and ideology of the Naga people\u2019s political aspiration\u201d lay.<\/p>\n
NPF press bureau said the vision of party leadership to widen its ambit to cover all Naga inhabited areas was to \u201cpromote social integration, national understanding and create\/maintain political order\u201d to ensure a \u201cclean and self reliant society\u201d.<\/p>\n
On ENPO\u2019s statehood demand, the NPF said DAN govt. has \u201cnever minced words\u201d or shied away from making \u201cfactual commends.\u201d It pointed out that on Jan 14 last, Dr Sh\u00fcrhozelie, while inaugurating the 63rd USSC at Kiphire, \u201cclearly\u201d said he had nothing to \u201ccommend\u201d on the ENPO demand for a separate state as it was a matter between the ENPO and the Centre.<\/p>\n
The bureau recounted that Dr Sh\u00fcrhozelie, while expressing apprehension that development may dismantle the hard won peace which has paved the way for a final solution to the Naga political issue, said \u201cNaga people will be helpless if the stage players fall into the trap of speaking what the \u2018prompters\u2019 prompt from behind the screen.\u201d<\/p>\n
Also, pointing out that NPF was \u201ca well-knit, disciplined family\u201d, it said NPF was a party with \u201cunwavering stand to safeguard and uphold the Naga identity and work towards bringing a solution to the Indo-Naga political issue acceptable to all.\u201d<\/p>\n
Reacting to K.Therie\u2019s remark over re-nomination of Dr. Sh\u00fcrhozelie as NPF president, the NPF said its constitution has it all as to how the election process of the party should go. <\/p>\n
The bureau said it was \u201cutterly ridiculous and astonishing\u201d that K. Therie took it so \u201cbitterly and murmur\u201d about the re-election of Dr Sh\u00fcrhozelie as NPF president.
\n\u201cIt only confirms how his folly has driven him to the nadir,\u201d said the NPF, adding his \u201coutrageous attack\u201d on the system of election of another political party only reflected \u201cthe degree of his frustrated and desperate state of mind.\u201d <\/p>\n
