NSCN\/GPRN has refuted Dimapur police report on the arrests of alleged NSCN (K) members on charges of extortion. A press release from MIP, NSCN\/GPRN said that it was not uncommon that many \u201ccriminals and extortionists are marauding the streets and markets of Dimapur using forged identities of different Naga political parties\u201d.<\/p>\n
NSCN\/GPRN said that arrest of \u201cBokato Ayemi and Joseph Awomi\u201d by Dimapur police on extortion charges and statement that they belong to NSCN (K) was \u201can unwise act of haste\u201d on its part to \u201cstain the NSCN\u2019s credibility.\u201d <\/p>\n
The press release said that the \u201caccused persons are in no manner connected to NSCN\/GPRN\u201d. It warned that in future, \u201csuch irresponsible comments directed at discrediting NSCN shall not be tolerated.\u201d <\/p>\n
NSCN\/GPRN further said that it was \u201cunwarranted\u201d on the part of law enforcing agencies to bluntly \u201cimplicate the NSCN\/GPRN\u2019S involvement\u201d merely based on the confessional statements of the accused. <\/p>\n
The MIP release added that responsible authorities should make \u201cproper enquiry and ascertain the true identities\u201d of the accused before rushing to the media so as to avoid \u201cunnecessary maligning of NSCN\u2019s image.\u201d It also asked the Dimapur police \u201cto provide detail facts and evidences\u201d if they are convinced in blaming NSCN\/GPRN. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
