Press Secretary to the chief minister Abu Metha was the chief guest. He congratulated Theja Meru for his great work in mentoring and managing such events. He also acknowledged the government of Nagaland for promoting new policies in this 4-5 years of ministry to showcase young talents and promoting of new talents of the youth. He applauded the Music Task Force, comprehensive sports ministry for utilizing young talents and showcasing them in the Glocal Arena. <\/p>\n<p>He encouraged the youth to keep up the good work and also welcomed all tourists from India and from outside. Gaina from NFDC Delhi addressed the crowd and highlighted on various avenues funds and scopes available. <\/p>\n<p>She highlighted mainly on film Bazaar, an International Indian Film Festival held every November in Goa. She highlighted on the scopes and the opportunities in attending such kind of events and invited young talents to attend such events. President, Rattle &amp; Hum, Theja Meru gave a word of appreciation and the screening started off. <br \/>\nThree films namely Man Tiger Spirit- a folk tale from Nagaland by Tara Douglas, Pule Badzie by Leo Kikon, President Naga Head Hunters and Mystical Grass &#8211; a film on the youngest musical instrument called Bamham were screened during the event.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;\">Iridologist nutritionist at Kisama:<\/span> For the first time, a registered member of International College of Holistic Medicine UK, Iridologist Nutritionist, SNHS (UK), Panrei Kashung gave treatment to patients above 4 years of age at stall No 92, Bamboo Pavilion at Naga Heritage complex, Kisama. Iridology is both Art &amp; Science that allows analysing the physical and physiological health status of an individual by signs in the pupils, iris and clera of the eyes. Panrei Kashung said that during this Hornbill Festival, many young and old from all walks of life were doing a round check-up. He also encouraged people to use natural products, as it was good for health. <br \/>\n&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <br \/>\n<span style=\"font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;\">Grease pole climbing competition:<\/span> Grease pole climbing competition was demonstrated during the third day of the Hornbill festival at Kisama. In the event, seven tribe representatives participated. Bukoi of the Khiamiungan tribe bagged the 1st place with a cash prize of `10,000 while Sacsing Keetung from Dimasa Kachari tribe and Suboi from Kuki tribe were awarded `7,000 and `5,000 respectively for the 2nd and 3rd place.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;\">Hornbill National Rock Contest 2011:<\/span> The long awaited Airtel Hornbill National Rock Contest 2010 will begin on Sunday starting at 4.30 pm at IG Stadium, Kohima. A total of 24 bands from across the country, vying for the highest prize money in the country are taking part in the four-day contest. <br \/>\nAll the participating bands are to report by 10am on Sunday (December 4) for draw of lot at the Control Room, IG Stadium. <br \/>\nOn Sunday, 10 bands will take the stage, another ten on Monday, and the remaining four bands on Tuesday. Day three saw a Choral Panorama presentation. The following churches- Police Union Baptist Church, Sangtam Baptist Church, Lotha Baptist Church, Sumi Baptist Church and Union Baptist Church presented various numbers.<br \/>\nNagaland Singing ambassadors- Lipokmar Tzudir, Governor Awardee 2011 and Nagagenous and Trinity Theological College (Hojevi Cappo Governor Awardee 2011) also presented songs.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;\">Hornbill Festival greetings:&nbsp;<\/span> Maj Gen B S Das, SM, IG Assam Rifles (North) and all ranks of Assam Rifles have extended \u201cvery warm greeting to people to the Nagaland on Hornbill festival\u201d. While wishing the community prosperity in all spheres and \u201cendeavour to push towards everlasting peace\u201d in the region. IGAR (N) conveyed sincere prayers to the Almighty to \u201ckeep a benign eye on the people of Nagaland to bring about peace, prosperity and tranquility in the days to come\u201d.<br \/>\nHornbill carnivals continue for the third day: Hornbill festival completed third day with varieties of activities and cultural extravaganzas enthralling the tourists and visitors alike. <br \/>\nAmong the main attractions on the third day, cultural items were presented&nbsp; by Khetoi village cultural troupe (Sumi), Bhandari Village Cultural Club, Log drum pulling- \u2018Sangkung Lu Khi\u2019 by Youthurang cultural club, Yimchunger and indigenous greased pole climbing competition.<br \/>\nOther cultural troupes CCSU (Chang), Kepv\u00fcshen Longwa (Terophenyie Village Rengma), Chao cultural club, Aboi Konyak, Phom cultural club of Yachem village and Phek Village Youth (Chakesang) also performed.<br \/>\nIn the singing competition at Kids Carnival, Kisama Dezievinuo of Oking Christian School Kohima bagged the first prize while Ruopf\u00fcno of St. Paul School Dimapur bagged the second prize and pocketed home `1000 and `500 respectively.
