{"id":83892,"date":"2011-12-21T22:02:45","date_gmt":"2011-12-21T22:02:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2011\/12\/21\/diphupar-village-turns-50-in-unity\/"},"modified":"2011-12-21T22:02:45","modified_gmt":"2011-12-21T22:02:45","slug":"diphupar-village-turns-50-in-unity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2011\/12\/21\/diphupar-village-turns-50-in-unity\/","title":{"rendered":"Diphupar village turns 50 in unity"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/TJBQECSAPEYYNQZFKXFM.jpg>Displaying unity in diversity, Diphupar village Wednesday celebrated golden jubilee on the theme, \u2018unite for progress\u2019 with MP Rajaya Sabha Khekiho Zhimomi and minister for health and family welfare K\u00fczhol\u00fczo (Azo) Nienu as the chief guest and guest of honour in the morning and evening session respectively.  <\/p>\n<p>Diphupar village which has a population of around 14,000 is an amalgamation of 16 tribes, and divided into 12 \u2018khels.\u2019  Khekiho, admiring the uniqueness of Diphupar village said it was the dream of every Naga to live as one under one administrative umbrella, adding the unity displayed by the villagers should be emulated by others as well. <\/p>\n<p>While lauding the village councils for maintaining a clean record and not having tribal disunity\/fight in spite of having different communities, Khekiho suggested the village councils and leaders to ponder over renaming the village as \u2018Diphupar Naga United village.\u2019  He donated a sum of `5 lakhs towards the village council and another `1 lakh to the organising committee.<\/p>\n<p>Other dignitaries who attended the jubilee celebration included DC Dimapur Hushili Sema, MLA I. Imkong, SP Z. Mero, ADC Niuland, Dimapur and Kuhuboto SDOs, EAC Chumukedima, director NEZCC and hosts of well-wishers. <\/p>\n<p>The day long celebration attended by 21 neighbouring villages was marked by songs and traditional dance by Angami, Lotha, Chakehsang, Sumi, Sangtam, Ao, Rengma Pouchury, Zeliang tribes etc. Nagas should rise above tribalism and live as Nagas: Azo Nagas should rise above tribalism and learn to live as Nagas, as a community and not as tribes said minister, health and family welfare, government of Nagaland, K\u00fczhol\u00fczo (Azo) Nienu. <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/cms.nagalandpost.com\/newsimages\/PhotosCollection\/FXFUOURHYETJZTBQFXZO.jpg\" style=\"border: 1px solid #000000; margin: 5px;\" \/><br \/>\n He said this while speaking as the guest of honour at Diphupar village Golden jubilee at Diphupar local ground on Wednesday. Azo was of the view that \u201cism\u201d was breaking Nagas apart and eating up the Nagas and that instead of integration Nagas were trying to disintegrate, for which he urged the people to change their mindset and  rise above tribalism to live as Nagas. <\/p>\n<p>Asserting that equal tribal representatives was very important to co-exist in unity and harmony, Azo said that it was the duty of more populated or bigger tribe to protect the interest of minor tribes, adding if Nagas inculcated this then they could live \u201cvery happily\u201d, but at the same time, expressed dismay that every tribe wanted a \u201clion\u2019s share\u201d which hampered co-existence among tribes. <\/p>\n<p>Appreciating the village, he said that the very theme \u2018Unite for progress\u2019 cannot be more befitting for such an occasion and added that the living testimony of unity for progress or unite for progress cannot be more relevant because of the living testimony of Diphupar village, as in the village, different Naga tribes lived in peace and harmony under one umbrella and one administrative rule. <\/p>\n<p>He then urged the villagers to be a living testimony to the Nagas so that other Nagas would follow suit. Congratulating the village council for proper utilization of funds, he said Diphupar village council has brought tremendous transformation in the village as the roads and drainage system have improved remarkably.  He urged the citizens to support and co-operate with the village council saying that all were under village council when it came to village issues. <\/p>\n<p>Earlier during presentation, three elders of the village, Yekupu Swu (105 years), Bendangsangla (105 years) and Chanuo Seyie were presented with blankets.
