{"id":84373,"date":"2013-03-08T15:30:08","date_gmt":"2013-03-08T15:30:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2013\/03\/08\/awareness-on-preventive-measures-for-diseases\/"},"modified":"2013-03-08T15:30:08","modified_gmt":"2013-03-08T15:30:08","slug":"awareness-on-preventive-measures-for-diseases","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2013\/03\/08\/awareness-on-preventive-measures-for-diseases\/","title":{"rendered":"Awareness on preventive measures for diseases"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/HJJWECZWODBGKSXEOQYF.jpg>Creating awareness of disease preventive measures was an important aspect of health besides focusing on curing and healing of the sick. <\/p>\n<p>This was stated by commissioner &amp; secretary, health &amp; family welfare Sentiyanger Imchen&nbsp; while addressing as chief guest the&nbsp; concluding event of health awareness special campaign of the ministry of the health &amp; family welfare 2012-13 at Heritage hotel Kohima Thursday under the theme \u201cJSSK (Janani Shishu Suraksha Karyakram), JSY ( Janani Suraksha Yojana), immunization, malaria and HIV\/AIDS. <\/p>\n<p>The programme was organized by Directorate of Field Publicity (DFP), regional offices of Nagaland &amp; Manipur and ministry of information &amp; broadcasting Govt. of India.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>During the address, Sentiyanger said many diseases could be prevented if people were educated especially in the rural areas. <\/p>\n<p>He said immunization was freely available including those of hepatitis -B. Sentiyanger also expressed his concern over the continuous spread of HIV and added that more education was needed to prevent further spread.<\/p>\n<p>DIPR Nagaland, joint director Limawati Ao in his address said information and broadcasting technology had a great impact on the people and the same could be used for spreading awareness. He urged young people to be the agents of change.<\/p>\n<p>IIS director DFP (N&amp;M) Dr. Engam Pame in his welcome address said the success of the government\u2019s developmental programmes and schemes largely depended on people\u2019s participation. <\/p>\n<p>He however said rural areas which did not have access to information faced drawback and DFP could fill in the gaps in their information needs. <\/p>\n<p>He said DFP was the only organization of the government of India engaged in interpersonal communication with common man which sought to disseminate information, generate awareness, and bring about attitudinal change towards the government\u2019s plans and programs.<\/p>\n<p>Kenyelo Kent director (Eng.) AIR Kohima also address the gathering as the guest of honour. Around hundred participants from Manipur and Nagaland attended the programme. <\/p>\n<p>The programme kick started from December 11, 2012 and covered 8 districts of Manipur and Nagaland. Dr. John Sweyievisa Jt. Director RCH spoke on JSSK and JSY as the resource person with reference to Nagaland.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>It may be mentioned that in June 2011, ministry of health and family welfare, government of India launched the JSSK, a national initiative to make available better health facilities for women and child. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Creating awareness of disease preventive measures was an important aspect of health besides focusing on curing and healing of the sick.
