Lok Sabha MP,CM Chang.<\/div>\n Moatsu, the premiere festival of the Ao Nagas continued its celebration into the second day with Mongsenyimti Reongsanger Putu (Village Council) hosting the celebration at their village Tuesday.
\nLok Sabha MP, CM Chang speaking as the chief guest said Mongsenyimti and Noksen villages since the olden days shared a good relationship and further encouraged the two villages to continue doing so, and be an example to the rest of the Nagas.
\nWith the advancement in technology, he said the younger generation has distanced itself from the age old tradition and culture, and further emphasised on preserving the customs which is the identity of a nation.<\/p>\n

Alem, IPS<\/div>\n Talking about how the DAN govt. had extended its support to the UPA govt, he said that when the letter of support was handed to Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh by chief minister Neiphiu Rio, the prime minister assured that the Naga solution will be arrived at before end of UPA\u2019s tenure. However, he lamented that Nagas were still divided and affirmed that the decade old problem will be solved only if there was reconciliation.
\nMeanwhile, the organizing committee of the Moatsu celebration adopted a two-point resolution: All citizens of Mongsenyimti will strive for preservation of the culture and tradition and to improve and strengthen peaceful co-existence between the villagers and others; to re-establish TSUMALENMANG LU as bio-diversity project for conservation of flora and fauna which was decided earlier but was not successful. The program ended with a Moatsu feast.
\nDimapur: In Dimapur, Moatsu celebration was witnessed at different localities on Tuesday. Lirmen union celebrated the festival, at Viola colony with Er. T. Saku Aier, parliamentray secretary, housing, labour and employment as the chief guest. In his speech, Saku gave a gist of Moatsu festival and history of the six days festival.
\nHe further lamented that the socio-economic conditions of the people under 30 Alongtaki A\/C, Japukong and Tsurangkong ranges in particular were not at par with other ranges under Mokokchung district. Bearing in mind the social disparity, he urged the people of the range to start believing and mull over the situation seriously as it was their duty and responsibility.<\/p>\n

Er. T. Saku Aier with wife<\/div>\n Ao Kaketshir Telongjem Dimapur: Ao Kaketshir Telongjem Dimapur on Tuesday celebrated Moatsu at DDSC Stadium Dimapur.
\nDGP home guards, civil defence & prison, O. Alem, IPS speaking on the occasion as the chief guest said, in the past people were simple and hardworking however, he added that advancement in science and technology has changed everything. With so much influence of western culture visible among the Naga youth, Alem stressed on the importance of preserving one\u2019s culture\/tradition and said one must maintain a balance and should not be too carried away by the foreign culture.
\nWith the gathering comprising mostly of youth and students, Alem urged them to strike stability between modernity and ethnicity, adding globalization and modernity have benefited the Nagas, yet one should not be too overwhelmed. He however expressed that the older folks take pride when they witness the youth taking the lead in organizing such major events with great enthusiasm.
\nMeanwhile, the main attraction of the festival was marked with cultural presentation by Merangkong Kaketshir Telongjem Dimapur, Dibuia Kaketshir Telongjem Dimapur including tug of war, walking on bamboo stilts by Mopungchuket Ait Laishir Telongjem Dimapur. Traditional folksong \u2018Kimak Ken\u2019 was presented by Ao Senso Telongjem Dimapur and \u2018Sobaliba Ken\u2019 by Dimapur Watsu Telongjem.
\nKohima: Kohima Koridang Telongjem (Union) joined the rest of the Ao community in celebrating Moatsu festival on Tuesday. Home minister Imkong L Imchen hosted the festival at his official residence, at New Minister\u2019s Hill.
\nThe host, while extending Moatsu greetings to the gathering, said the festival should be coming together of the people. The principle aim of the festival is to invoke Gods\u2019 blessing for the annual activities, he said and reminded that the festival provides a period of recreation and entertainment after a stressful work in different fields.
\nTo the amusement of the crowd, a congregation of seven villages under Koridang, Imkong revealed that the day was special to him as it was also his 27th wedding anniversary.
