He encouraged the SHGs on how a group together can achieve and escalate to the next level by co-operating and helping one another.<\/div>\n<div>All the participating SHGs displayed their agricultural products which were organic, they displayed other handmade products such as traditional shawl, Tie, Muffler, Makela, earings, waist coat, necklaces etc, and they also displayed detergent powder and dish washing gel, which they learned from the training given by ATMA.<\/div>\n<div>The participants expressed gratitude to ATMA functionaries for conducting such kind of programme.<\/div>\n<div>They also visited the Banana plantation.<\/div>\n<div>Altogether four Self Help Groups (SHGs) namely Azalimi, Aza Xakiqhe Muqo, Niboqha and Zhukucho participated in this Kissan Ghosti cum sales day.<\/div>\n<div>MEDZIPHEMA: Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Dimapur Chumukedima Block conducted a joint visit program along with KVK officials on December 3 at united village.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>SMS (Animal Science) from KVK (ICAR) Jharnapani, Dr. Epibeni Ngullie, spoke on the topic piggery management. She emphasized on breeding and selection, heritability in pigs, detection of heat, care and management of pregnant animals and piglets, weaning, feeding management, prevention and control of pig disease. &nbsp;Later, ATMA officials along with the KVK officials visited an integrated farm managed by an SHG and presented first-hand information on pig farming.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>The programme was chaired by HO and BTT convenor, Medziphema block Temsu Longukumer and later vote of thanks was delivered by BTM Medziphema block, Chubanaro.<\/div>\n<div>Meanwhile, ATMA Dimapur Medziphema block conducted a joint visit program along with KVK officials on November 5, where SMS (Animal Science) from KVK (ICAR) Jharnapani Dr. Epibeni Ngullie, gave training on poultry farming. She gave a brief introduction on poultry farming, health and nutrition facts of chicken meat. She also emphasized on its advantages, things to consider while building a poultry house or shed, feed requirements, vaccination schedule, diseases, symptoms and their control measures.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Accordinly, ATMA officials along with the KVK officials visited a poultry farm and presented a first hand information on poultry farming to the farmers.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Earlier the programme was chaired by ATM, Medziphema block Zevoseno, and vote of thanks was delivered by, ATM, Medziphema block, Keneisano.<\/div>\n<div>KIPHIRE: ATMA Kiphire under Pungro block on December 9 participated in exhibition cum sales day at the kholar festival.<\/div>\n<div>BTT Yamukiu, stated that &nbsp;progressive farmers and farmers interest group from Khonsa block and Pungro block participated with 16 different variety of organic kholar, 4 variety of &nbsp;ricebean, soyabean, pumpkins, ginger, fish, orange, sugarcane, maize, millet and vegetables. ATMA Kiphire expressed gratitude to organisers for organising the kholar festival, giving opportunity to farmers to explore, exchanging farming know how and most importantly creating platform for farmers and buyers.<\/div>\n<div>DIMAPUR: ATMA Longleng conducted a series of district level farmers training during the month of September and October 2016 in collaboration with KVK Longleng in all the three blocks, Longleng block, Tamlu block and Sakshi block. The trainings deliberated on the topics of women in agriculture in Nagaland. Altogether 120 farmers participated on the trainings.<\/div>\n<div>NIULAND: Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Dimapur, Niuland block conducted demonstration programme at Niuland town on December 2.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>In the demonstration programme, resource person, SMS (plant breeding), KVK-ICAR, Jharnapani, Kolom Rabi spoke on the topics \u201ccultivation practices of garden pea, winter maize and vegetables\u201d. He elaborated on planting methods, sowing, seed rate, treatment, tillage, nutrient and water management and pests\u2019 management.<\/div>\n<div>Meanwhile, joint visit was also conducted by ATMA and KVK officials at the mango plantation farm and mustard field in Niuland town and farmers were given technical advice on water, nutrient and pests management. The programme was chaired by BTM Niuland block Demalu Hasnusa, while vegetable and maize seeds were distributed to the women farmers.<\/div>\n<div>NIULAND: Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Dimapur, Niuland block conducted Kisan Ghosthi was conducted at Niuland town on December 3.<\/div>\n<div>In the programme, resource persons, L.A. KVK-ICAR Jharnapani, Dr. R.S. Patel spoke on the topic of \u201cbudding and grafting methods in horticultural crops.\u201d He demonstrated and said that grafting and budding are horticultural techniques used to join parts from two or more plants so that they appear to grow as a single plant. In grafting, the upper part (scion) of one plant grows on the root system (rootstock) of another plant. In the budding process, a bud is taken from one plant and grown on another.<\/div>\n<div>HEKHESHE: NRC on Mithun organised a Farmers-Scientist interaction-cum-input distribution programme on mithun was conducted in Hekheshe village, Dimapur on November 1. At the programme during interaction time, basic information were collected regarding the source of livelihood, agriculture and animal husbandry practices and also the scope of mithun rearing in the village. Farmers were informed about semi-intensive mithun rearing and scope of mithun husbandry for improving livelihood as well as the conservation of forest.<\/div>\n<div>In order to improve the livelihood of the farmers, poultry chicks (190 numbers) were distributed among 19 beneficiaries.
