A press note by PRO (Defence) Col. C. Konwer stated that it was a symbol of unity of the soldiers who were enrolled from all seventeen tribes of Nagaland. The aim of the Morung was to attract and inspire the youth to serve the Nation along with their culture and tradition in the citizen army. The Morung also exhibits the rich culture and tradition of Nagaland.<\/div>\n<div>The Bn came into existence on November 1, 2005 and moved out for operational deployment in Nagaland on January 4, 2007. It has been conducting numerous welfare activities for civilians including a number of med camps in the interior villages of Nagaland.
