Expressing serious concern over fire disasters during dry season, the state home commissioner has called upon administration, police, health department and municipal members to join hands in the events of such incidents.<\/p>\n
According to a DIPR report, a meeting to review the state\u2019s preparedness to conduct fire disaster was held at the office of the home commissioner February 2. <\/p>\n
The meet noted that power department should be incorporated into the emergency group, since cutting off of power lines become imperative for fire dousing with water.<\/p>\n
It was also discovered that most fire incidents were due to electrical short circuit.
\nReasons of which could be unauthorized hooking or inferior quality of wires and overloading of transformers. <\/p>\n
The meeting discussed the strategies to meet fire disasters by increasing fire engines by expanding fire service stations and by creating water reservoirs. <\/p>\n
It was also brought to light that public awareness should be created, often people crowd the area and hinder fire fighters and also causing traffic jams, for fire tending vehicles, to access the site.<\/p>\n
