Kholie Kapfo and vice chairman Muneyi Hiesuh said such \u201cbeastly\u201d acts and anti social activities was not known in the social fabric of the Nagas in the past. With the coming of migrants, especially \u201cMuslim community\u201d, Naga culture has been \u201cdiluted by scores of \u201cfilthy\u201d behaviours, statement said<\/p>\n<p>DCC reminded that it was time for Nagas to \u201cact and not just preach and watch\u201d. DCC also acknowledged Naga Council and Naga Woman Hoho Dimapur for the initiative in formulating policies to curb \u201canti-social\u201d elements. It also lauded Dimapur police for the prompt action in arresting the four accused and urged authorities to award exemplary punishment to the culprits.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;\">NMA:<\/span> Stating it has viewed seriously the recurrence of spate of violence and crimes committed; the Naga Mothers\u2019 Association (NMA) Thursday said expressed strong condemnation that every human being has the right and dignity to live and therefore to value human lives. <\/p>\n<p>NMA president Abeiu Meru and secretary Lochumbeni Humtsoe, in a joint statement, said peace committee members of NMA, with its advisors, sat for an emergency meeting Thursday on the rising factional violence and rape of Naga women by illegal immigrants. <\/p>\n<p>NMA said their stand on the latest crime against women by illegal immigrant, was for the government to take immediate stringent measures and adopt strong action to check illegal immigrants from entering Nagaland. <\/p>\n<p>NMA demanded severest punishment as per the law against the accused. NMA also resolved to call for an emergency meeting to have wider consultation to address serious concerns of factional violence.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;\">NSWON:<\/span> National Socialist Women Organization of Nagalim (NSWON) \u2013\u2013 a women wing of the NSCN (I-M) \u2013\u2013 Thursday expressed \u201cshock and anger\u201d at the inhuman act of rape committed against a young married Naga woman by five Muslim immigrants February 6 at Burma Camp, Dimapur.<\/p>\n<p>In an emailed statement, NSWON said \u201caudacity to commit such a heinous crime by refugees in the presence of her helpless husband and in our own soil clearly indicates the seriousness of the situation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Describing rape as \u201can alien culture\u201d to Nagas, NSWON however, said the counting has never stopped with one incident after the other, \u201cwhether it is raping of three Naga girls on the Holy pulpit of Yankili Church by the Indian Army or death of Ms. Rose of Kumram village or hordes of others, or for that matter the regular raping and murders of Naga girls every few months in Indian metropolitan cities especially in the Capital Delhi, now it has come to our own home turf.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Stating that such crimes were contagious to the society, NSWON said it not only condemns the act in strongest words but urged to take stringent steps to put a total halt once and for all. It also expressed sincere sympathy to the victim\u2019s family.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;\">TPO:<\/span> Dismayed by the rape incident, where five immigrants mercilessly assaulted physically, one of \u201cour sister and her husband and then gang raped her\u201d, Tenyimi People\u2019s Organization (TPO) strongly condemned the incident and said such act was nothing but another glaring example of \u201chow the guests in our own homeland are trying to respond to the simplicity, honesty, generosity and the hospitality given to them\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Declaring that \u201cTenyimi would never forgive instead would respond in a befitting manner\u201d, TPO said it was disgracing and unacceptable to the Tenyimi\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, TPO president keku Zelaing demanded the law enforcing agencies particularly \u201cthe judiciary that severe and exemplary action be awarded to the arrested accused, else the Tenyimi will not hesitate to initiate its own course of action as per the existing law of the land,\u201d TPO stated.<\/p>\n<p>Further, while expressing beliefs and age old traditional practices of pure democracy, peace and peaceful co-existence, TPO reminded every citizen living in Tenyimi traditional boundaries that it would not remain a silent spectator but resort to own course of actions deemed fit to protect its own people and&nbsp; land.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;\">SPFDD:<\/span> Sangtam Peoples\u2019 Forum Dimapur District (SPFDD) has also \u201cstrongly condemned\u201d the gang rape of a Naga woman by mians (illegal immigrants). <\/p>\n<p>Such anti-social activity should not be allowed to exist in civilized society at any cost, SPFDD president Er. T. Athriba in a statement said.<\/p>\n<p>SPFDD assured all possible cooperation to the leading social organization handling the issue in their endeavour to eradicate such incident in future. Further, the forum requested the general public to be vigilant and avoid employing illegal immigrants in their day to day works.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;\">NMDA:<\/span> Nagaland Medicine Dealers Association (NMDA) has condemned in strongest words the gang rape of 23 year old Naga Lady and physical assault on her husband Monday night by the group of five immigrant Miya criminals. It also termed the act as \u201cfather of all crimes ever committed by any migrant in Nagaland.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In a joint statement, NMDA president Ato Yepthomi and general secretary Basu Damani said the association has issued \u201cstrong directive\u201d to all its members to properly verify the authenticity of the person, especially foreign immigrants coming from neighboring state of Assam and seeking job in Nagaland.<\/p>\n<p>NMDA said it has been resolved that any of its member who appoints any immigrant without verifying permanent residence certificate and proper address would be not only doing it at one\u2019s own risk and responsibility but also be severely dealt under the amended constitution of the association.<\/p>\n<p>Further, the condemning the crime of highest order, NMDA appealed to the Muslim council of Dimapur to put all efforts to apprehend the absconding culprit to wherever he had disappeared. It also urged Muslim council to put a strong check on the illegal immigrants at their own level to help in suppressing the ever increasing criminal activities in Dimapur.<\/p>\n<p>Also, while advising all the communities residing in Dimapur to keep a watch on their community people with any kind of suspicious character, NMDA appealed to the NGOs and civil societies to not only condemn such crimes but also to verify from the courts of justice as to how many of the cases of all criminal activities by such people has been registered in the past.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHow many Under Trial Prisoners (UTPs) have been convicted?
