And that remains the main problem in Dimapur.

Traffic Personnel had to run from one end to the other to enforce the new rule but unfortunately, taking on unruly and indisciplined drivers only added to their problems.

The best option would be to fall back on earlier plan of construction of one flyover from Ghorapatty to Purana Bazar and one culvert at Thaheku to East Police Station side.

Traffic Police in Dimapur is also woefully short of manpower where each traffic island needed at least five on duty at a time.
It maybe mentioned that Home minister, L. Imkong Imchen was also seen inspecting the traffic between Dhobinala junction and Holy Cross junction, Saturday afternoon.

‘No U-Turns for Ur-Turns’
Traffic Police Dimapur continue to grapple with the perpetual problem of handling large number of vehicle plying on narrow roads.
The main bottlenecks in Dimapur City are in the following areas: Holy Cross-Church Road Junction; Tragopan-Golaghat Road-Burma Camp over bridge; MP Road-New Flyover Junction etc.

However, the main arterial road in the heart of the city needs some serious review.

1. Vehicles coming from Holy Cross side should not be allowed to take a U-turn at the traffic island. They can either turn left to NL Road or straight towards Dhobinalla.

2.
