\u201cThis is not just about Ashton,\u201d the New York Daily News quoted a close friend of the actress as telling E! News.
\n\u201cI\u2019m sure Ashton would like to think it\u2019s all about him. \u201cIt\u2019s really more about the toll it takes on any ambitious woman in this town,\u201d the friend said.<\/p>\n
The source said that the \u2018Indecent proposal\u2019 star has long had issues with the demands of the spotlight, namely \u201cconstantly having to prove you\u2019re not just a pretty face but a talented actor, as well. Constantly having to prove you\u2019re a good mother, not just a celebutante around town who goes to parties instead of looking after her family.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cHaving to stay sober in a town that\u2019s so not,\u201d the source said.
\nMoore suffered an apparent overdose and convulsions on Monday night brought about by a combination of drugs that have yet to be identified by investigators. She was rushed to the hospital shortly thereafter.<\/p>\n
\u201cShe can\u2019t speak … she\u2019s convulsing … we\u2019re holding her down,\u201d a friend said in the disturbing 911 call.
\nThe friend told the emergency operator that the actress had \u201csmoked something\u201d similar to incense before the reaction. Kutcher, meanwhile, was in Sao Paulo, Brazil at the time of his soon-to-be ex-wife\u2019s health crisis, and was seemingly having a good time attending shows for the city\u2019s fashion week and posing for photos with fans.<\/p>\n
Still, Moore\u2019s friends are insistent that the \u2018Margin Call\u2019 actress is in good spirits after entering rehab for \u201cexhaustion\u201d following her trip to the hospital.<\/p>\n
\u201cI just saw her and she\u2019s doing great,\u201d Patty Jenkins, her director friend, said.
\n\u201cI think she\u2019s doing much better than it\u2019s made out to be. \u201cDemi is awesome and so strong. I also hate when people make it a bigger drama than what is going on. She\u2019s great,\u201d Jenkins said.<\/p>\n
In initial reports about Moore\u2019s scary situation, news outlets reported that the actress had been using whip-its and possibly Spice, a synthetic cannabis drug, at the time.<\/p>\n
According to TMZ, however, the L.A. City Attorney called for all references to whip-its to be wiped from the released 911 tapes, citing invasion of privacy.<\/p>\n
Authorities have yet to confirm what drugs may have caused Moore\u2019s seizure-like reaction.
