Backstreet Boys star Nick Carter has dedicated the group\u2019s forthcoming tour to his late sister. The singer – who is due to go on the road with the boy band later this spring – made the gesture following the sudden death of his sister Leslie Carter, aged 25, in New York yesterday (31.01.12).<\/p>\n
Nick said: \u201cPerforming is cathartic to me and I am dedicating the rest of my tour to my sister since she loved to watch me perform.\u201d
\nHis publicist Jack Ketsoyan told MailOnline: \u201cNick is thankful to the many people and the fans who have shared their wishes and prayers during this tragic time. We want to let the fans know the tour will go on as promised.\u201d<\/p>\n
Nick\u2019s brother Aaron Carter – who is now set to take leave from starring in off-Broadway production \u2018The Fantasticks\u2019 – also paid tribute to his sister by posting a message on her Facebook page.<\/p>\n
He wrote: \u201cRIP MY DEAREST SISTER….! I LOVE U AND YOU THE ONE THAT ALWAYS ROCKS. LOVE AARON UR LIL BRO U CALL LL AC. (sic)\u201d
\nAn autopsy has been performed on Leslie\u2019s body, and the medical examiner found \u201cno visible signs of trauma\u201d.<\/p>\n
Coroner Richard Mackowiak, of the Chautauqua County Coroner\u2019s Office, told E!: \u201cWe are awaiting a toxicology report to determine a cause of death. There were no visible signs of trauma.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe body has been released to the family. Results of the toxicology test are made public at the discretion of the family.\u201d The toxicology report is expected to take between four and six weeks to complete.<\/p>\n
The Carter family previously said in a statement to \u2018Access Hollywood\u2019: \u201cOur family is grieving right now and it\u2019s a private matter. We are deeply saddened for the loss of our beloved sister, daughter, and granddaughter, Leslie Carter.
\n\u201cWe request the utmost privacy during this difficult time.\u201d<\/p>\n
As well as Nick and Aaron, Leslie also had a musical career. Her single \u2018Like Wow!\u2019 featured on the soundtrack to 2001 animated movie \u2018Shrek\u2019 and she signed a record deal with Dreamworks in 1999 but a planned album was never released.<\/p>\n
