This was exposed after NSCN (I-M) \u201capprehended\u201d a person who ran an agency and supplied automobile fuel to filling stations in Nagaland and Manipur.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement, NSCN (I-M) \u2018dy. kilonser\u2019 Y. Zhimomi said that its ministry of health affairs (MHA) on February 12 \u201capprehended\u201d one Noel of Gorapati and on interrogation he revealed that the \u201clucrative business\u201d of fuel adulteration was an \u201copen secret\u201d being practiced by almost all the fuel supplying agencies of Nagaland and Manipur. <\/p>\n<p>According to the statement, Noel furnished the names of agencies involved in fuel adulteration. The names of these agencies include \u201cSrikant, Gunapati\u201d who supplied fuel to \u201cNRL, 2\u00bd Mile, Dimapur, ESSAR, 7th Mile, Chumukedima, Sekhose BOC, Kohima\u201d, \u201cLal Mohan\u201d who supplied fuel to \u201cNational Service Centre, 6\u00bd Mile, Dimapur (dealer IOC Ltd.)\u201d Dimapur, \u201cDinanath and Pandit\u201d who supplied fuel to \u201cNagame Service Centre Station, 8th Mile\u201d Dimpaur, \u201cNirmal Jain\u201d who supplied fuel to \u201cBurma Camp Petrol Pump\u201d and \u201cSantu Jain\u201d who supplied fuel to \u201cGorapati BOC and many more\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Based on the \u201cconfessional\u201d statement of Noel, MHA raided the fuel stations and found \u201cincriminating\u201d materials and \u201cevidences\u201d such as \u201cextra cubicles, tanks and motor pumps\u201d which were used in the process of fuel adulteration, said the statement. It said that the findings suggested the fuel stations were \u201cworking in corroboration\u201d with the respective agencies.<\/p>\n<p>The statement added that MHA also found these stations were not following the \u201cstandard temperature and density of petrol\u201d. Pointing out that this was just a \u201ctip of the iceberg\u201d which needed \u201cintensive\u201d probing, MHA said consumers should take \u201cstringent\u201d measures to check such kind of \u201ccorrupt\u201d practices while these \u201cerrant\u201d agencies and fuel stations were \u201cminting crores of rupees\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>The statement went on to say that the consumers have not only been \u201clooted and exploited\u201d but also the adulterated fuel caused \u201cnumerous health and environmental hazards\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold; font-style: italic; color: #ff0000;\">NSCN (I-M) kilonser rejects Assam Rifles claim<\/span><br \/>\nNSCN (I-M) \u2018education kilonser\u2019 Kraibo Chawang termed it as \u201cvery unfortunate\u201d the recent operation conducted by joint team of 29 Assam Rifles and police in his residence February 20. Chawang said on February 20 at 2 a.m. the 29 Assam Rifles personnel raided his residence and demanded to inspect the AK-56 which he was entitled as per ID card.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>Chawang in a statement, said the AR after being shown the weapon, took it away.&nbsp; <br \/>\nDuring the raid, he said another NSCN (I-M) cadre \u201ccapt.\u201d Kaphung Kui, who was his tenant and also of the \u201cNaga army\u201d, was searched and from whose possession on 9mm pistol was recovered. He also said he produced his bodyguard before the AR officer when asked to do so.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>The kilonser said his bodyguard was then asked to sit nearby where the 9 mm pistol was placed after which a photograph was taken in order to \u201c implicate me that the 9mm pistol also belonged to me.\u201d Chawang said he even told the AR officer that he had nothing to do with the 9 mm since it did not belong to him.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>He said he told the AR officer to seize the pistol if needed but however felt that the intention of the AR officer was to implicate him for possession of two arms so as to take away the AK-56 which he was entitled as per his ID card. He said the incident was witnessed by all his tenants and police assigned as a guide to AR. <\/p>\n<p>He termed the AR action as a gross violation of cease fire ground rules when the only weapon he was entitled to, was taken away.
