LVYO dismisses Wokha orgs\u2019 allegations<\/span> In a rejoinder, LVYO president Piponthu Ezung and secretary Hiyibemo Ezung termed the allegations as \u201cfabricated\u201d and blamed Wokha village supporters of a party for committing \u201cseveral atrocities, vandalisms, threats and intimidations\u201d of the supporters of another rival political party.<\/p>\n LVYO has alleged that Wokha supporters made an attempt on the life of one Peter Humtsoe and vandalized his property on February 4 besides damaging and destroying water supply pipes to Humtso and Elumyo villages. <\/p>\n The organization alleged that the road link to Humtso and Elumyo villages has been blocked since February 5. <\/p>\n LVYO added that acts of vandalism and attempt to life continued on February 7, 8 and 10 by party supporters of Wokha villagers including destruction of pipe line at Suren and Ranchan colonies besides destruction of private residences at NST and Mt. Tiya colonies. <\/p>\n The organization asserted that Lothas residing in Wokha town were witnesses to the incidents that took place and said it would not tolerate such \u201cunwarranted and unlawful activities\u201d in any manner.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Dimapur Longsae Ekhung chairman Akum Ezung and Kohima Longsae Ekhung Benri Ezung have joinly condemned the alleged \u201cexcessive and continuous atrocities and intimidation\u201d committed by Wokha Village supporters of a particular party since the assembly election results were announced. The two have also resolved to support LVYO for the \u201csafety and security\u201d of public.<\/p>\n Pessao village cut off<\/span> In a press release, Pessao village GB K.S.Wenlang and council member Y.Eangba stated that following the blockade supply of essential commodities could not reach the village thus depriving Pessao villagers of their livelihood.<\/p>\n They said the lifeline of Pessao village, which connects with others villages under 55 Tobu assembly constituency, remained blocked for the past two weeks.<\/p>\n According to Penssao GB and VCM, lives of the villagers were insecure due to \u201cunpredictable eventuality\u201d that could arise out of \u201cunceasing tensions\u201d between the two villages. <\/p>\n The signatories urged the responsible local authorities and the government to examine the prevailing situation and take positive measures.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Ten days even after results of the February 23 assembly elections were declared, tension still prevails in some areas following reports of violent incidents.
