The project is being funded by World Bank under ministry of DONER, government of India. <\/p>\n<p>The project would cover eight districts in four states namely Sikkim, Mizoram, Tripura and Nagaland.&nbsp; In Nagaland, the state government had proposed for Peren and Tuensang districts respectively. <\/p>\n<p>The project focuses on improvement on the livelihood of women, poorest of the poor and unemployed youth.<\/p>\n<p>Joint secretary also shared success stories of similar livelihood project in Andhra Pradesh where she had seen changes in people\u2019s lives. <\/p>\n<p>She was of the view that change could be achieved if the people have the zeal to change and a long term vision. <\/p>\n<p>She also shared on the importance of five principles to be followed by community institutions like Self Help Groups (SHGs), regular savings, inter-loaning among members, regular meeting, regular maintaining books of accounts and rotation of leadership and transparency among the group members.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, deputy secretary also shared on the importance of changing one\u2019s mindset for a better life.&nbsp; \u201cMoney is liquid as we can\u2019t hold water in our palms so is money\u201d, Deputy Secretary said.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>Maintaining that one should change their mindset of dependency on the government, she said, the project is community driven based on their needs and that unemployed youth both male and female could avail training and operate their own enterprise or get employment placement after completing training from the project.<\/p>\n<p>It may be mentioned that North East Rural Livelihood Project (NERLP) is committed to community empowerment, natural resource management, economic empowerment and sustainable development. <\/p>\n<p>The officials lauded the state government under the leadership of the chief minister Neiphiu Rio and state planning minister, T. R.
