{"id":88816,"date":"2012-03-25T22:56:04","date_gmt":"2012-03-25T22:56:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2012\/03\/25\/development-association-of-nagaland-dan-spreads-awareness-on-tb-control-in-tuensang\/"},"modified":"2012-03-25T22:56:04","modified_gmt":"2012-03-25T22:56:04","slug":"development-association-of-nagaland-dan-spreads-awareness-on-tb-control-in-tuensang","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2012\/03\/25\/development-association-of-nagaland-dan-spreads-awareness-on-tb-control-in-tuensang\/","title":{"rendered":"Development Association of Nagaland (DAN) spreads awareness on TB control in Tuensang"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/CGGYOLTZXNVTQNDAFVNA.jpg>Development Association of Nagaland (DAN) along with RNTCP with support from Catholic Health Association of India (CHAI) under GFATM R-9 \u201cProject Axshya\u201d observed a special campaign to commemorate \u2018World TB Day\u2019 on March 24 at main police point junction, Tuensang on the theme \u201cStop TB in my Lifetime\u201d. <\/p>\n<p>SP Tuensang Roopa M, who stressed on the theme, said every individual must be responsible enough to stop the spread of TB in one\u2019s life time so that the community would be free from TB as targeted by the \u2018Millennium Development Goal by 2015\u2019.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>Vikishe Sema, ADC Tuensang was the chief guest said that in the year 1999, WHO declared TB as a threatening disease and that the ministry of health initiated the National TB Control Program to curb down the spread of TB through enhancing public and private sector health facilities with DTC, DMCs and DOTs centres in all the blocks and taluks. <\/p>\n<p>He also lauded RNTCP and DAN for their effort in achieving a successful treatment rate at 85%. <br \/>\nAt the end of the program, signature campaign was initiated by organizers through district TB Forum in support of the memorandum submitted to the deputy commissioner through addl. deputy commissioner for providing free nutritional supplement to poor TB patients in the district through government schemes available in the state and the centre. <\/p>\n<p>The organizers also initiated Mobile Van free services in giving adequate messages on TB at main public places and sectors through PA system, distribution of IEC materials, pamphlets, patient charters in both Nagamese and English language which can reach out to 10 to 15 thousands of people in the district.<\/p>\n<p>DAN also organized a press conference at Tent Making Ministry Coffee House, Tuensang to share activities of Project Axshya and RNTCP to the key persons in the district. <\/p>\n<p>Kyupise Sangtam, DCO CHAI briefed the methodology of the press meeting on World TB Day 2012.<br \/>\nEarlier, Debashish Deb, a recovered TB patient and general secretary of district TB Forum said one must be ready to take up challenges and responsibilities in spreading awareness of TB related messages to the community.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>Dr. Yanbo Kithan, District TB Officer, DTC Tuensang in his sharing said \u2018World TB Day\u2019 provides opportunity to show commitment for the eradication of the disease. <\/p>\n<p>He shared on the basics on Tuberculosis, signs and symptoms of TB, misconception on TB, service available in the centres which is available for free. <br \/>\nT.Y Sangtam, executive member of Eastern Nagaland Peoples Organization gave a solidarity speech in the event. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Development Association of Nagaland (DAN) along with RNTCP with support from Catholic Health Association of India (CHAI) under GFATM R-9 \u201cProject Axshya\u201d observed a special campaign to commemorate \u2018World TB Day\u2019 on March 24 at main police point junction, Tuensang on the theme \u201cStop TB in my Lifetime\u201d.
