Naga Hoho Monday said \u201crandom\u201d escalation of prices of essential commodities and raw materials for building construction were many a time \u201cdubious in nature.\u201d <\/p>\n
In a statement, the Naga Hoho assistant general secretary Nikhrolo Khalo said the Hoho has been observing that Dimapur, the only commercial hub in Nagaland, has been \u201cdriving towards determining the prices\u201d in the state for reasons \u201cbest known to the concern authorities like administration and department of taxes.\u201d <\/p>\n
The Hoho said it has become \u201ca matter of great concern\u201d for the general public who were always the victims of corruption in high places, extortion etc. Pointing out that lately there has been \u201cinflation on cement in a very exorbitant rate by Rs.15 per bag as stated by deputy commissioner of Dimapur\u201d, the Naga Hoho said it has created \u201cconfusion in the minds of the innocent public\u201d that whether DC has the \u201cprerogative to fix the rate for cement.\u201d <\/p>\n
Naga Hoho said, whatever the reason maybe, the shopkeepers should not be allowed to fix \u201cunreasonable prices\u201d under the pretext of \u201cextortions, corruptions, donations, etc.\u201d <\/p>\n
It also appealed to all the public \u201cto keep vigil against all forms of ulterior designs\u201d and report the matter to the responsible authority \u201cso as to save the people from the hands of manipulators in our own land.\u201d <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
