Zeliang on Tuesday informed that the Municipal election was likely to be held by first week of February 2017. In this regard, Zeliang asked party workers to start preparing from now. This was contained in a written speech of the chief minister read out by NPF working president Apong Pongener in his absentia at the NPF CEC meet.<\/span><\/div>\n<div>He reiterated that granting 33 % women reservation in municipalities was an important step towards women empowerment. He also sought support from various organizations for smooth implementation of women quota through mass awareness campaign and mobilization of public opinion.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Zeliangs\u2019s speech also touched on Naga political issue, which according to him, having opposition-less government provided a greater sense of urgency on the ongoing dialogue.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>Though the final solution was yet to see the light of the day, \u201cthere have been positive developments during the last one year beginning with the signing of the Framework agreement by the GoI and the NSCN (I-M) on August 3last year\u201d, he added.&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>He therefore, urged upon the people to remain united and refrain from negative thinking and unnecessary gossips and speculations but continue to pray to God for the best possible outcome.<\/div>\n<div>Zeliang also mentioned on the performance of the NPF party in Manipur, which bagged four seats in the last assembly election. To continue with the same momentum, he urged the party leadership to be careful and methodical in choosing party candidate. &nbsp;&nbsp;<\/div>\n<div>On 2018 state assembly election, chief minister was of the view that the NPF party will have to fight the election \u201cwith a slightly modified support based in many constituencies\u201d<\/div>\n<div>\u201cMany of the party candidates although not new, may have to fight the next election under \u201cCock\u201d symbol for the first time\u201d, he added. Therefore, the chief minister hinted to start the process of some adjustments between the party members (old and new) at the assembly constituency and block levels.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nagaland chief minister T.R.
