Naga Women Hoho (Dimapur) members comprising of– Chakhesang, Rongmei, Poumai, Pochury, Liangmai, Zeme and Mao tribes representatives claimed that the Hoho was now defunct and that they have \u201crejected\u201d and \u201copposed\u201d the hoho\u2019s search committee\u2019s report on formation of new office bearers. <\/p>\n
Claiming there was \u2018isms\u2019 and divisions within the hoho, the members also accused Naga Council, Dimapur (NCD) of being \u201cone-sided.\u201d <\/p>\n
Interacting with media person, the members echoed that they do not want a \u201ctinted, unethical woman leader\u201d but a \u201cqualified, truthful and efficient\u201d leader who would not bring \u201cism, majority, minority divisions\u201d within the hoho. <\/p>\n
The members also lashed out at NCD for interfering in the affairs of NWHD even when the council was not officially approached for consultation.<\/p>\n
Maintaining that they do not have anything against any particular tribe or individuals, the members said that they were protesting against the \u201cunethical\u201d proposal of the search committee to re-elect Hukheli T. Wotsa and Mmhalo Ngullie as the president and vice president respectively. <\/p>\n
\u201cWe are against the report of the search committee, we will not accept it\u2026. the Hoho is defunct now and we want it to be run by new office members\u201d said former general secretary NWHD, Liangsi Mao.<\/p>\n
Reiterating her statement, former president NWHD Tiala Sapuh alleged that \u2018isms\u2019 and divisions within the Hoho cropped up under the leadership of the then president Hukheli T. Wotsa. Sapuh while accusing Wotsa of not being \u201ctransparent\u201d claimed that \u201csome members\u201d, in her team, felt that she failed to be \u201ctransparent and accountable\u201d during her tenure.<\/p>\n
She accused Wotsa of not holding yearly audit and annual session even once during her five-year tenure adding that the annual audit which \u201cseemed\u201d to have done was \u201cinvalid\u201d as the audited statement was still a \u201cmystery\u201d to the office bearers and executive members. <\/p>\n
Sapuh also accused Wotsa of favouring \u201cfour major Naga tribes\u201d over the rest of the applicants for the DMC election by \u201cdeliberately\u201d leaving out the rest. <\/p>\n
On selection of sessional chairperson and secretary, Sapuh said that Komuni Pfozhe was selected by the house however Khrieleno Terh\u00fcja opposed it and instead proposed Homi Shishak\u2019s name. <\/p>\n
Stating that this was a clear example of \u201cundemocratic practice\u201d, Sapuh further accused Terh\u00fcja of questioning the \u201crationality\u201d of Chakhesang Mother\u2019s Association for not voting for Hukheli T. Wotsa. <\/p>\n
Sapuh said that on November 23, 2012, during a meeting convened by NCD, some NCD male members threatened the women who stood for right and justice and accused NCD for failing to control the \u201chostile attitude\u201d of its members, especially a vice president and a councilor.<\/p>\n
Asserting that such kind of \u201cthreat, violent and dominant attitude\u201d should be condemned by all, Sapuh termed it a \u201crude attitude\u201d. <\/p>\n
\u201cThis negative attitude of few members of Naga Council is questionable for the sake of future generations and the rest of the office bearers and executive members have not witnessed the hostile scene that day\u201d said Sapuh. <\/p>\n
