{"id":92568,"date":"2012-04-26T00:41:43","date_gmt":"2012-04-26T00:41:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2012\/04\/26\/ar-nscn-im-standoff-condemned\/"},"modified":"2012-04-26T00:41:43","modified_gmt":"2012-04-26T00:41:43","slug":"ar-nscn-im-standoff-condemned","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2012\/04\/26\/ar-nscn-im-standoff-condemned\/","title":{"rendered":"AR, NSCN (IM) standoff condemned"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/>The BJP Nagaland state has vehemently condemned the \u201cclandestine provocation\u201d by the 29 AR.<br \/>\nTerming the 29 AR\u2019s \u201cmalafide and dishonorable intentions by its road opening party as a direct challenge\u201d to the NSCN (IM) which \u201cdegrades the dignity\u201d of the CFGR, the state BJP however, appreciated the \u201cmatured handling\u201d of the \u201chighly charged\u201d matter by the NSCN (IM) in avoiding an armed confrontation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Indo-Naga Ceasefire was signed in 1997 for which on several instances, the AR has taken undue advantage to violate the CFGR and provoked the NSCN (IM) wrongfully,\u201d stated the BJP in a press release issued by its vice-president, K. Medom Angami, and further strongly demanding the union home minister\u2019s immediate intervention to control the army to refrain from such provocation and to \u201cbuild a bridge of trust\u201d with the NSCN and the general public.<\/p>\n<p>The state BJP vice-president also stated the home minister, Imkong Imchen\u2019s statement claiming \u201cNagaland is the most peaceful state\u201d was truly shameful; considering the fact that \u201cpeace has alluded\u201d all these years under NPF rule, for which \u201cfear mentality amongst the general public has been created everywhere in Nagaland like the most recent incident at Hebron\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The release further added the \u201chome minister normally plays a most important role in providing internal security, and by doing it upholds centre state relations\u201d, but the BJP failed to understand the home minister\u2019s role in the state\u2019s \u201ctotal breakdown\u201d of law and order problem and \u201csheltering\u201d himself with the logic of ongoing Naga peace process as a political issue recognized by the government of India, which showed that he was \u201cshying away\u201d from his duties.<\/p>\n<p>In another separate press release, the Kyong Students\u2019 Union (KSU) has termed the action of 29th Assam Rifles on April 19 near Hebron camp as \u201coutrageous\u2019 for violating the ceasefire ground rules under the command of Maj. Sykhanta, a Meitei from Manipur.<\/p>\n<p>KSU stated \u201csuch an erring and inefficient army officer having an evil design do not deserve to serve in a place for peace loving people.\u201d The student body also condemned the \u201cselfish\u201d interest of Shambu Singh, joint secretary, MHA (NE), an IAS officer of Manipur cadre for directly violating the CFGR.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the union also expressed discontentment over the vandalizing of DC, Wokha, conference hall and inflicting injury to the DC during the conduct of Longsa VDB secretary election on April 21.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The BJP Nagaland state has vehemently condemned the \u201cclandestine provocation\u201d by the 29 AR.
