{"id":9322,"date":"2011-07-23T00:55:44","date_gmt":"2011-07-23T00:55:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/151.106.38.4\/2011\/07\/23\/book-titled-nagas-fashion-a-kaleidoscope-released\/"},"modified":"2011-07-23T00:55:44","modified_gmt":"2011-07-23T00:55:44","slug":"book-titled-nagas-fashion-a-kaleidoscope-released","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nagalandpost.net\/index.php\/2011\/07\/23\/book-titled-nagas-fashion-a-kaleidoscope-released\/","title":{"rendered":"Book titled \u2018Nagas &#038; Fashion: A kaleidoscope\u2019 released"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img src=\/old_site\/PCEWMSYGEBRPZXHMYGLC.jpg>Exploring and exposing the potential of ethnic Naga textiles and ornaments in the fashion scenario, Nola Longchar, a fashion communication graduate from National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) New Delhi on Friday released a note book-\u2018Nagas and Fashion: A kaleidoscope\u2019. <br \/>\nThe note book consists of a collection of photographs based on Naga textiles and ethnic wear.<br \/>\nIn the event of releasing the note book at The Orchid, Nola Longchar said her work was about styling with traditional elements and also providing a platform to Naga models and photographers in the fashion industry. <br \/>\nNola said the project is a venture to explore and make use of the distinct and unique ethnic flavour which is in demand in other parts of the world, adding her work was to create Naga textile in a unique way to bring out the individualism in each person.<br \/>\nCommissioner and secretary, Industries and Commerce, Thangi Manen who released the note book lauded Nola Longchar for her conceptualized ideas and encouraged her to break barriers and project Nagaland to the world in fashion industry. <br \/>\nWhile stating that Nagas have raw materials and basic essence of colour and design, Thangi Manen underlined the need to project Naga textile and handloom in a more refined manner. <br \/>\nShe encouraged the youth to create style that go along with natural, friendly and wearable products.<br \/>\nNagas and Fashion: A kaleidoscope is the final research graduate project of Nola Longchar. <br \/>\nThe note book is being promoted by Beauty and Aesthetic Society of Nagaland (BASN) and sponsored by Charn MPCS Ltd, Dimapur. Concept and styling of photographs provided by Nola Longchar and photography by Rokovor Vihienuo.
