DAN-III legislators from Mokokchung district Wednesday toured a number of places covering two constituencies (29 Jangpetkong and 30 Alongtaki A\/Cs) in an effort to get first hand information on the needs of the people. The tour was led by minister of health & family welfare Imkong L Imchen. Others included parlaimenatry secretary for agriculture Dr. Benjongliba, advisor NBDA Dr. Longrineken, and Chairman DPDB Mokokchung and MLA T. Amenba Yaden. <\/span><\/div>\n

The places the legislators visited included Khar village, Mangkolemba town, Longchem and Yanjang C villages where separate public meetings were held. Speaking at one of the meetings, Imkong L Imchen said that there has been a sea change in the political landscape of Mokokchung referring to the number of young and new faces who got elected recently. Commenting on the opposition bench in the legislative assembly, Imchen said the Congress members were being treated equally as treasury bench members. <\/div>\n

He stated the NPF-led DAN government was now more focused on common interest of the people and not petty politics. \u201cWe don\u2019t discriminate on party lines but discriminate between the truth and the lies,\u201d Imchen added.<\/div>\n

Talking about the development in Mokokchung district, the minister said that efforts were underway to construct the \u201cChangkikong road\u201d which was a long awaited dream of the people of the area. <\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
Further, Imchen promised to introduce one Public Health Centre (PHC) at Khar village while at Yajang C village, a 12 bedded hospital was promised by the minister in response to a request made by the village council.<\/div>\n
\n<\/div>\n
Besides the minister, all the legislators also spoke at meetings wherein they promised that they would do whatever possible for the welfare of the people.<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
