Rob Lowe has revealed he unwittingly flew on a plane alongside the 9\/11 bombers on their dry run ahead of the attacks.\nThe Parks And Recreation star said he was on the flight which 11 days later would crash into the Pentagon, killing all onboard.
\nSpeaking as it was confirmed that Osama Bin Laden has been assassinated, he revealed how close he came to the tragedy.
\n\u2018I flew with the 9\/11 hijackers on the dry run, without realising,\u2019 he revealed on The View. But he appeared confused about the flight number of the plane he took.
\n\u2018I was working on the West Wing in DC at the time and I always took Flight 93 or 73, the flight that leaves Dulles that they eventually put into the Pentagon,\u2019 he said.
\nUnited Flight 93 was the plane that was brought down by brave passengers who realised it had been hijacked. It crashed into a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, killing all on board. There are theories that the hijackers had wanted to use the plane in an attack on the White House.
\nAmerican Airlines Flight 77 was the plane that crashed into the Pentagon. The actor seems to have meant he was on that flight, but has not yet clarified.
\nLowe explained how he didn\u2019t have any indication that he was flying with the terrorists.
\n\u2018It was 11 days before 9\/11, I made the flight a lot and I didn\u2019t think anything of it. I got on the plane and it was packed\u2019.
\n\u2018Nobody looked scary, nobody looked like a terrorist. It looked like an absolutely normal flight…then 9\/11 happened.\u2019
\nThe 47-year-old only found out about how close he had come to the attacks a year later.
\nHe received a letter from the attorney general\u2019s office in Maryland informing that he was on the list to be deposed for terrorist Zacarias Moussaoui\u2019s defence.
\n\u2018I think, \u201cThis has to be an April Fool\u2019s joke,\u201d\u2019 Lowe revealed.
\n\u2018Even just telling the story, it almost feels like it didn\u2019t happen to me. I\u2019m just grateful that I wasn\u2019t one of the so many Americans who had suffered.\u2019
\nFollowing the announcement of Bin Laden\u2019s death, Lowe joined the crowds celebrating in New York\u2019s Times Square.
