Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) 2 Dimapur II mandal held a meeting with secretary organizer Nagaland, Ananta Narayan Mishra here on Monday at SMC auditorium, Landmark Colony, Dimapur.<\/span><\/div>\n
Speaking in the meeting, Ananta was optimistic that the BJP party though in its infancy in Nagaland would do well in the coming general elections if the party workers worked hard.<\/div>\n
He said that performance of BJP party in 2018 elections would depend on the primary membership enrolled in the BJP party and also on booth level workers.<\/div>\n
Ananta also urged the senior party functionaries to be equipped with the many schemes and plans introduced by the NDA government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and create awareness among the people. He also mentioned that money would not be everything for election, however one needed to have determination to work hard for the party. <\/div>\n
He asked the party people to preserve the Naga tradition and culture and promote the richness to the other states particularly the other countries. <\/div>\n
BJP intending candidate 2 Dimapur II A\/C,  Moatoshi Longkumer in his speech said that Nagaland was a tricky state for BJP, besides being a Christian dominated state. Moatoshi said that there was being a political attempt across the country to project BJP as a communal party and said most of the issues were misconstrued by the people. <\/div>\n
Moatoshi mentioned that BJP party functionaries and intending candidates of the BJP Nagaland were facing a lot of criticism from every nook and corner of Nagaland especially from the church. In this regard, he said there were challenges ahead for BJP Nagaland to earn the trust of the people, to be a people\u2019s party and not succumb to autocratic and rigid style of leadership. He said that BJP believes in secularism and the party does not interfere in personal choices and freedom and also BJP respecta the culture and the history of the Nagas.<\/div>\n
He opined that BJP was a national party and committed to equitable development of all members of the society, every caste and tribe etc. He said \u201cit is better to be an insider and make corrective suggestion according to the needs of the people than an outsider whose voices are never heard\u201d.<\/div>\n
Short speeches and exhortation were delivered by SEM & convenor finance & development BJP Nagaland, Temjen Imna Along Longkumer, district president, BJP Dimapur, L.Bendang Ao and general secretary (Adm) district in-charge Dimapur, Eduzu Theluo. <\/div>\n
Earlier, the programme was chaired by mandal president BJP Dimapur II, Imkongtongzuk Ao, God\u2019s blessing was invoked by treasurer BJP Dimapur II, B.T.Phom. welcome address was delivered by president and vote of thanks was proposed by general secretrya (Org) BJP Dimapur-II, Inito L.Shohe. <\/div>\n
BJP Peren: The BJP Peren district tour program of the BJP, 7th Peren mandal and 6th Tening mandal with Ananta Narayan Mishra, organizing secretary Nagaland was held on July 28 and 29 at BJP office Peren district, Jalukie and town hall, Tening respectively.<\/div>\n
A press note by BJP Peren district president, Huzantadbo Meriam stated that Ananta Narayan Mishra, expressed sadness over the condition of the area citing poor pace of development, lack of proper electricity, telephone connectivity and road etc. Mishra assured that if BJP came to power in Nagaland, he said that, he and the govt. would appeal the central government for Nagaland to have 3 (three) MPs and would raise another two constituencies in Peren district (one each for Peren and Tening) and in total of 80 (Eighty) assembly constituencies in Nagaland. <\/div>\n
Others who spoke included BJP Nagaland secretary, Chambeni, BJMM Peren president Dr. Tasile N. Zeliang, BJP spokesperson Nagaland Khiubangdi Chawang, SEM BJP Nagaland Zandi Domta, BJP Nagaland secretary and co-incharge Ester Bano and BJP Nagaland and incharge Peren district vice president Kuputo Shohe.<\/div>\n
